The big topic in this release is accessibility. The app now works properly with VoiceOver, and there is nothing to set up or enable.

Turn VoiceOver on and Applio speaks. Every job announces when it starts, how far along it is, and when it finishes or fails: conversions (single and batch), training with its preprocessing and feature extraction, text to speech, model downloads, voice blending, plugin installs and realtime conversion. The Active Processes menu lists live jobs with their progress, and the Process Dashboard (Cmd+Shift+P) reads out live numbers for each run: current epoch, best loss, files converted, estimated time left. Every path field has a Browse button that opens a proper macOS picker, and the file dropdowns show readable names instead of long file paths. Speech only runs whilst VoiceOver is on. Everyone gets the completion and failure toasts, and a sound cue when a job ends.

All of this was contributed back to the main Applio project. Eight pull requests, all merged, so people using the standard version benefit too.

Quitting is also safer now. Closing the window or pressing Cmd+Q during a conversion asks first instead of pulling the app down mid-job, and a confirmed quit cancels the work cleanly.

From upstream Applio since the last release:

• multi-speaker training
• an rmvpe option for high-register voices, in the training settings
• training runs faster: TF32 is used on Apple Silicon, and discriminator gradients are skipped during generator loss evaluation
• fixes for model information output, model blending and TensorBoard links
• the translation pass is complete: the strings that used to stay English are translated, and the language picker shows each language in its own spelling

As before, the app is signed and notarized. Download the DMG, drag Applio to your Applications folder, and your existing data and settings are left alone. The first launch downloads the model files, about 2 GB.

Batch inference on the Process Dashboard

Training already had the dashboard. This release adds batch voice conversion: convert a folder of audio and follow it live on the Process Dashboard (Process → Open Progress Dashboard, or ⌘⇧P). See files converted / total, the current file, a derived ETA, and speed, with the card auto-opening when a batch starts. Completed and cancelled runs land in the dashboard history with their counts, and if the app quits mid-batch the run is marked interrupted on the next launch (no phantom running card).

Single-process is now the only architecture

3.6.3.6 introduced single-process mode and made it the default. 3.6.3.7 removes the legacy two-process code entirely. There is no longer an APPLIO_SINGLE_PROCESS flag and no wrapper-subprocess fallback; the app runs as one process (one dock icon, one menu, one window). If you set APPLIO_SINGLE_PROCESS=0 before, that setting is now ignored and can be removed.

Fixed: Stop no longer quits the app; batch inference works signed

• Inference Stop is cooperative. In single-process the inference PID was the app PID, so the inference-tab Stop button killed the entire app mid-batch. Stop now halts the batch at the next file and leaves the app running.
• Batch output folder. Batch conversion now creates the output folder if missing (it previously failed with an opaque "System error" when the chosen output path did not exist). The stop-PID file that failed to write in the read-only bundle is gone, replaced by a cancel flag in the writable data directory.

This release adds a real-time Process Dashboard for following training runs, reworks the native menu bar, and moves the app to a single-process architecture that fixes the window and menu quirks of the old two-process layout.

Built on Applio 3.6.3. The app is signed and notarized; download the DMG and open it directly. No xattr -cr workaround needed.

Process Dashboard

The main addition in this release. Training a voice model takes time, and until now you had to dig through log files to follow a run. The new Process Dashboard (Process -> Open Progress Dashboard, or ⌘⇧P) is a live window that shows how a training run is going and keeps finished runs so you can revisit them.

• Training at a glance. While a run is active, see the current and total epoch, the step, training speed, and a derived ETA, with a progress bar for the current epoch.
• Find your best model. The dashboard plots evaluation loss across every epoch and highlights the epochs where loss dropped significantly. Green markers call out the runs that mattered, so the checkpoint worth keeping is easy to spot. Your best epoch and its loss stay visible at the top.
• Control the job without leaving the dashboard. Stop, Pause/Resume, Reveal the log in Finder, or Open the log, all from an action bar.
• Your best epoch is saved. Best-epoch metrics are written to history, so they survive restarting the app and even re-training the same model later. When no job is running, you can browse the metrics of finished runs.
• It opens itself. Start a training job and the dashboard comes up on its own.

Overhauled menu bar

The native macOS menu has been reworked to feel like a proper Mac app:

• One consistent menu across the app, with new Process and Help menus.
• Reveal in Finder for logs, datasets, audios, models, and the other data folders; back and working.
• Hide (⌘H) and Minimize (⌘M) now behave correctly.
• A real Check for Updates that queries GitHub Releases, plus a silent check at launch that only notifies you if a newer version is out. Version comparison is fixed, so it no longer flags a downgrade as an update.
• The Studio Production Guide is bundled under Help.

Now runs as a single process

Applio for Mac used to run as two cooperating processes: one owned the dock icon and menu bar, the other owned the window. It worked, but it came with two quirks that had been there from the start: the Hide command did not hide the Gradio window, and the menu bar could appear to swap depending on which window was frontmost.

This release merges everything into one process, and that is now the default. Both quirks are gone: Hide hides the window, the menu bar stays put, and the app behaves like one coherent Mac application with a single dock icon, one menu, and one window. Training, reopening, quitting, and the dashboard all work in this mode.

The old two-process layout is still around as a fallback. If you ever need it, set APPLIO_SINGLE_PROCESS=0 (for example, launchctl setenv APPLIO_SINGLE_PROCESS 0 before opening the app).
