0.2.0

@fronglemog fronglemog released this 29 Sep 04:57

This release fixes some bugs with editor layout, and adds a new feature, toggleable in the plugin settings.

Features

  • Readable line length: A new toggle under Settings → Editor settings limits the maximum line length. Maximum line length uses the built-in Obsidian CSS variable --file-line-width, so it can be modified by themes and CSS snippets.

Bug fixes

  • With line wrapping turned off, horizontal scrolling no longer moves the text behind the line-number gutter or outside of editor margins.
  • Stopped the line-number gutter from moving when you scrolled horizontally.
  • You can now scroll far enough to see the end of the longest line. Before, the last few characters stayed hidden under the right margin.
  • On tablets, swiping from the margins beside the text column opens the sidebars again, instead of scrolling the text.

This release adds:

  • Theme-aware YAML syntax highlighting.
    • Includes syntax highlighting for Base formulas!
  • YAML support manages automatic closing of brackets and quotes.
  • Improved mobile layout (removed some jank)
  • Hopefully fixed some weird behaviour that made it hard to swipe to open sidebars on mobile, when a Base Source editor is open.

This release adds:

  • Line wrapping: Mirrors Obsidian's native behaviour when enabled.
  • Plugin settings: Toggle line wrapping in the Base Source Editor.
  • Styling: The Base Source Editor now mirrors the theming and layout of the native editor, and it follows Obsidian's light/dark mode setting.
    • Syntax highlighting is not yet supported.

Caution: This plugin is in beta.

Fixed:

  • Pressing tab moved focus out of the editor. Now, pressing tab indents a line by 2 spaces.
  • Scroll position and undo history are preserved if the .base file is modified externally.

Caution: This plugin is in beta.

Adds a new view - 'bases-source'.
This view can be switched to when viewing a Base (.base) file - it provides the ability to edit the YAML source code of a Base directly within Obsidian.
