What's New

Doctor Mode (xtop -doctor)

  • Load Average everywhere: CPU Utilization now shows load avg inline with capacity % interpretation
  • Human-readable load: 1m=17.76 5m=13.27 15m=13.19 | 8 CPUs → 222% capacity (critically overloaded) with trend [RISING/FALLING/STABLE]
  • Run Queue analysis: New check showing R-state and D-state processes classified by name, thread count, with aggregation
  • Diagnosis section: LOAD AVG + CPU BUSY lines with capacity interpretation and IO-vs-CPU driver detection

TUI Overview Page

  • Header bar: Load now shows Load 104.3/8=1304% — load/CPUs/percentage, color-coded
  • CPU details box: Load avg with capacity % and interpretation (idle/light/moderate/heavy/overloaded/severe/critical)
  • Run queue: Shows count + percentage + status label (OK/BUSY/SATURATED/CRITICAL)

CPU Detail Page

  • Load avg: Full 1m/5m/15m with capacity % and human interpretation
  • Run queue: Count + percentage + status label
  • Steal explanation: Plain English — minor overhead / noisy neighbor / VM starved, with virtualization type
