Update Home assistant 2026.02

Hello,

First of all thanks for you great work to making and maintaining this addon!

Describe the bug
Since the home assistant 2026.02 update there is a bug with the eufy security camera's.
I tested it with the indoor Cam C220, but maybe it's with other camera's to.

Normally when the camera's detected a person, the event image is updated, person detected, person name etc.
But after the update these things didn't work properly. Sometimes the camera's get's an update, but most of the time not.
See the picture below. I walked in front of the camera, but there isn't an update.
I tested it in the eufy app, and everything worked perfect. So it's a HA issui.
Other camera's still working. I restarted HA, and reloaded the addon but without any changes.

To reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:
When possible, go to devices, camera, and in the screen activity you see the updates.
Trigger the camera, the updates failed to load.

Additional information

Go to Settings -> System -> Repairs -> Click on 3 dots (...) -> System Information and get Version and Installation Type to below fields;

• Eufy Security Add-on Version:

I don't use live streaming on the eufy camera's, only event image's and updated entities.

Hardware Information;

• Camera Model:
  Indoor Cam C220 (but maybe also with other camera's)

• Live Streaming Protocol (RTSP/P2P):
  X, no liverstreaming setup

• Debug Logs from Home Assistant (How to enable debug logs for eufy_security integration? #624) - Without this, I will automatically resolve this issue

I have the debug log and the eufy addon log downloaded from HA. I don't know if i could upload it here in total? Because i see serials etc in the log. When i delete information, it's maybe not possible for you to trace the error?
When possible i could send it private to you. Please let me know what to do.

I installed it recently and have exactly this issue. I have no reference to older HA versions as I have not used it before

I found the problem. So maybe it could help others to:

Due an eufy update the checkbox for push notifications is disabled in the eufy official app.
In the app > go to smart menu > click on the gearbox icon add the desired security mode and select add your camera the push notification.
When i disable this, the eufy integration in ha can't get any updates from eufy. So maybe the maintainer could change this in the code, so that ha also gets updates when this is disabled.

I don’t think this is possible, the push messages are the source for the integration to retrieve these updates, so push messages disabled is no updates.

The readme also mentions explicitly that the integration relies heavily on push messages all being enabled.

Event images not showing for some devices is caused by Eufy having updated something on their end, resulting in PNG images being sent to Home Assistant instead of JPEG. These contain an alpha channel (RGBA) which causes issues with HA's image convertor. I've submitted a PR fix to the HA Core Github which will help with a more permanent fix. In the meantime, here's a temporary fix to the Eufy Security integration itself that resolves the camera event images not showing problem.

replace /config/custom_components/eufy_security/image.py with the following (remember to create a backup first!). This file has been created for my specific HA setup but it should work for everyone. Suffice to say, use it at your own risk!

Justin fixed it, but still need to start application for it to fetch. anyone know of a better solution for grabbing thumbnail? is it worth setting up the video feed to fetch automatically?

I am also having a simliar issue where the images do show up, but they are a jumbled mess of lines across the image. Has anyone found a solution for that?
