v0.14.4
What's new
- A water meter or water bill sensor in gallons is now suggested Water instead of Volume, and a weather station's pressure sensor is suggested Atmospheric pressure.
- When you choose a different device class, classes that are easy to confuse, such as Water, Volume and Stored volume, now come with a one-line description of what each covers.
Fixed
v0.14.3
What's new
- Restarting Home Assistant after the weekly check was due no longer resets how long a broken integration has been failing, so its card still shows up on time.
- A stuck integration that loads again now drops off the check right away, instead of staying listed until the next weekly run.
- The update review no longer marks an update as possibly breaking just because HACS reminds you to restart or clear your browser cache, or because the update needs a newer Home Assistant version.
Fixed
v0.14.2
What's new
- The Tokens today and Cost today sensors now sit under Diagnostic on the Gut Check device page, so they no longer appear on the auto-generated dashboard. Cards and automations that use them keep working.
- Tested against Home Assistant 2026.9.4.

v0.14.1
What's new
- Gut Check now meets the Silver tier of Home Assistant's integration quality scale. It works the same as before.
- The README shows a screenshot of the Configure screen, puts the Options section right after setup, and says a weekly run of every check costs about a cent.
Other Changes
v0.14.0
What's new
- Repairs card titles drop their trailing words, so more of a long entity name fits. Update cards now name the integration or add-on being updated, such as "Update: Presence Simulation".
- Device class suggestions and the stuck integration check are now on by default. If you have never saved Gut Check's Configure screen, both switch on with this update. If you have, your choices stay as they are. To change them, go to Settings > Devices & services > Gut Check > Configure.

Other Changes
v0.13.0
What's new
- Gut Check can suggest which entities to leave out of the recorder. It counts how often each entity wrote a new state over the last week, and for the busiest ones it asks whether anyone needs their history. Each run, up to ten entities that Gut Check thinks are not needed get a Repairs card with the snippet to add to your configuration.yaml. Gut Check never changes your recorder settings itself. Entities in the Energy dashboard, sensors whose statistics are totals, and entities a dashboard graphs are never suggested. It is off by default: go to Settings > Devices & services > Gut Check > Configure and tick "Run the weekly recorder suggestions".

v0.12.1
v0.12.0
What's new
- The stuck integration check now raises a Repairs card for any integration that has failed to set up for over a week and that Gut Check can't diagnose. The card shows the error the integration reported and links to its page. Until now, those integrations appeared only in the check's sensor attributes. The check is off by default: go to Settings > Devices & services > Gut Check > Configure and tick "Run the weekly stuck integration check".
- If a check can't run because the daily budget is used up or the service is unreachable, its sensor keeps the last result. A new
last_errorattribute gives the reason until the next successful run.

v0.11.0
v0.10.0
What's new
- Gut Check can suggest hiding sensors that describe a device rather than your home, like a phone's Wi-Fi name, SIM or signal strength, so they stop crowding your dashboards. It is off by default: go to Settings > Devices & services > Gut Check > Configure and tick "Run the weekly diagnostic sensor suggestions". Each suggestion is a Repairs card, and you can change a hidden sensor back from Configure.
- Every check now asks about at most ten items at a time, and its answers got more accurate. Replaying data captured from a real install, the home health check went from unsure about 131 of 145 unavailable entities to 40.
- Repairs cards now start with their category, like "Unavailable:" or "Diagnostic sensor:", so you can tell them apart at a glance.
Added
- lead each repairs card title with its category (#55) (0c12ba1)
- suggest hiding sensors that only report on a device or its connection (#52) (e470c58)
