Radiance v3.5 brings 147 visible ComfyUI nodes for HDR, colour management, image/video processing, review and DCC handoff.

Highlights

  • Updated HDR VAE and pixel-based SDR-to-HDR workflows, with consistent reference-white handling.
  • Simple and Advanced Viewer modes, comparison tools, scopes and bounded frame caching.
  • Viewer audio for VIDEO inputs, restored media after workflow switches, scoped keyboard shortcuts and improved native-video frame scheduling.
  • Verified Nuke 17.1v2 EXR handoff and Resolve Studio still/sequence import.
  • Updated installation links and package metadata for fxtdstudios.com and this repository.

Installation

Install or update Radiance through ComfyUI Manager, or clone this repository into ComfyUI/custom_nodes:

git clone https://github.com/fxtd-studios/radiance.git

Install the dependencies with the Python used by ComfyUI, restart ComfyUI, and refresh your browser to load the updated Viewer.

Compatibility and limitations

  • Back up existing workflows before upgrading from v2.x. The changelog documents retired nodes and changed behaviour.
  • Temporal windowing remains experimental and disabled by default. Some long-video scenes fail visual acceptance; use temporal_window=0 for the supported unwindowed path, which requires more memory.
  • WebGL is the default, tested Viewer backend. Optional WebGPU has feature gaps.
  • Plain IMAGE batches contain no audio. Sequence audio is silent during reverse playback. Generated Viewer previews require their ComfyUI temporary files; rerun the workflow if those files are removed.
  • Use Write nodes for video/sequence export. Viewer adjustments are preview-only unless applied in the workflow.

See known limitations and the website.

Bug fixed with radiance writer

◎ True 32-Bit Scene-Linear Pipeline • Zero clamping. Zero banding. Full OpenColorIO (OCIO) v2 integration, native ACEScg/Rec.2020 support, and precise log decoding (ARRI LogC4, S-Log3, RED Log3G10).

◎ Grade Match & LUT Pipeline • Match source color statistics to any reference using CIE Lab* transfer. Bake your grades directly into 33³ .cube LUTs, or apply any external LUTs with high-precision trilinear interpolation. Ready for DaVinci Resolve & Premiere.

◎ Cinema & Film Emulation • Go beyond basic filters. Emulate Alexa 35, RED V-Raptor, or iconic film stocks like Kodak Vision3 and Portra. Add physically-accurate DOF, Halation, Bloom, and Rolling Shutter.

◎ Analysis & Monitoring • Monitor your image with GPU-accelerated Luma/RGB Parades, Waveforms, Vectorscopes, and False Color visualizations. Our new QC Pro automatically flags gamut violations, crushed blacks, and noise floors.

◎ Video & Temporal Tools • Stop the AI flicker! The new Temporal Smooth tool offers motion-aware flicker reduction for AI video, complete with a Flicker Analyzer for JSON reporting.

◎ AI & Depth Integration • Depth Anything V2: Fully integrated, temporally stable monocular depth estimation. • Highlight Synthesis: AI-driven reconstruction of clipped HDR textures. • 32-Bit AI Upscaling: Latent-preserving super-resolution (SUPIR/RealESRGAN) that maintains your true HDR values.

◎ Pipeline (The VFX Nuke Bridge) • Live, two-way image transfer directly between ComfyUI and The Foundry Nuke! With true multi-channel 32-bit scanline OpenEXR exporting and Nuke-style Workspace Management enforcing project variables (Root/Sequence/Shot/Version).

◎ Terminal HUD & Interactive Masking • A live Python REPL embedded right in the viewer for fast tensor inspection, plus an integrated soft-brush for non-destructive mask generation.

◎ Performance • Powered by 10x–50x GPU acceleration (CUDA + Apple MPS) with zero re-uploads for instant scrubbing.

v2.2

Choose a tag to compare

@aelnaby aelnaby released this 18 Mar 02:40

Bug Fixes
Sampler Pro v3.6: Fixed BUG-28 (sigma schedule off-by-one) and BUG-33 (AYS Flux anchors).
Missing Imports: Resolved an issue where json was missing in nodes_radiance_viewer.py.
HDR Clamping: Fixed accidental 8-bit clamping in several CPU-based effects, ensuring your 32-bit float data remains intact throughout the pipeline.
CDL Restoration: Restored the exportToCDL() function that was briefly dropped during the terminal integration.

Major New Features
Terminal HUD (Radiance Viewer v2.2): A live Python REPL is now embedded directly in the viewer.
Includes a persistent namespace so variables survive between executions.
Pre-injected with torch, numpy, math, and os for quick on-the-fly math and image analysis.
Safety guards prevent the ComfyUI event loop from freezing during long-running scripts.
Radiance Professional Suite (9 New Nodes):
Color & Grading: ◎ Radiance Grade Match (shot-to-shot matching) and ◎ Radiance LUT Bake (export your grades as .cube files for Nuke/Resolve).
Temporal Tools: ◎ Radiance Temporal Smooth for removing flicker and AI grain, plus ◎ Radiance Flicker Analyze for technical reporting.
Compositing: ◎ Radiance Blend Composite with 8 HDR-safe blend modes.
Analysis: ◎ Radiance False Color for calibrated exposure visualization.
Technical Viewer Upgrades:
GPU Histogram: Real-time 256-bin per-channel histogram (Press H).
LRU Frame Cache: Drastically improved scrubbing performance by caching up to 8 GPU textures.
fp32 Pick Buffer: True scene-linear color picking with EV readout at your cursor.
Display-P3 Support: Automatic detection and configuration for HDR/Wide Gamut monitors.
MPS Fix
