lp-engine 0.1.0

The first release of lp-engine: LovePlus+ (Konami, 2010) on macOS, Windows and Linux, run from your own copy of the game, fully in English.

You need your own dump of LovePlus+ (Japanese release, game code BOXJ) as an .nds file. Nothing from the game is included; on first run the app asks for your file and reads the game's data from it.

In this release

• The complete game in English: all dialogue, menus, messages and the drawn-in UI graphics.
• Up to 4× resolution 3D on the GPU, anti-aliasing, texture filtering, smooth toon shading, 30 fps character animation and upscaled textures and backgrounds.
• Mouse for the touch screen, rebindable keys, gamepads, the microphone, closing the lid (minimize), a shiftable clock.
• Save import and export, including DeSmuME .dsv.
• Session recordings that let a reported problem be replayed exactly.

Known limits

• Wireless features (Talk Mode, card exchange, pass-by, save send / receive and transfer, regional capsules) need a second DS and aren't available. Choosing one shows a notice.
• A few spots stay in Japanese on purpose, such as the vocabulary quiz and name readings.
• Windows may show a SmartScreen prompt the first time, until the new signing certificate builds reputation.
