WebMCP Adapter 0.15.1 makes the supported product boundary explicit: this plugin provides frontend WordPress Site tools for ChatGPT Work and Codex in the ChatGPT desktop app's built-in browser.

What changed

  • The plugin description, settings, activity UI, README, architecture, development guide, WebMCP reference, and bundled agent instructions now use the same ChatGPT Work and Codex positioning.
  • System Chrome, Playwright, raw CDP, and WordPress Playground are documented as deterministic page-side regression harnesses, not product clients.
  • The stale backend-catalog browser-agent article has been replaced with the current frontend-only workflow.
  • A detailed Site tools guide and a speech-friendly PDF edition are now included.

There is no tool-contract or migration change from 0.15.0. The inventory remains 7 read tools by default, 15 with unsaved editor writes enabled, and 16 with the separately gated save/publish tool enabled.

This remains an experimental plugin for local or throwaway WordPress sites. WordPress 7.0+ and PHP 8.1+ are required.
