plumOS Pixel2 v0.1.3

English

plumOS Pixel2 v0.1.3 is a GKD Pixel2-specific SD-card Linux distribution.
It retains the stock Pixel2 Linux 5.10.198 boot substrate while plumOS manages
the frontend, emulators, applications, settings, storage, networking, updates,
power behavior, and user data.

The release image passed the repository's strict host gates and reproducibility
check. The exact v0.1.3 Runtime payload was applied and fully verified on real
GKD Pixel2 hardware, including frontend and Wi-Fi restoration, mutable-data
preservation, and standalone N64 startup, display, and audio. The fresh-card
path passed automated image, first-boot geometry, and provisioning checks but
was not separately operator-retested for this point release.

Changes

  • harden the common PortMaster compatibility layer, including Rockbox display,
    process cleanup, and clean frontend return after Apps and Ports;
  • preserve the user's RetroArch menu choice (RGUI, Ozone, or XMB) and correct
    the Ozone logical viewport on the Pixel2 display;
  • add standalone Mupen64Plus 2.6.0 as an optional N64 route with Pixel2 display,
    audio, and input integration;
  • fix standalone N64 SRAM persistence for non-aligned DMA writes;
  • map the physical D-pad to N64 analog by default, use a short Function press
    to toggle analog/D-pad mode, and reserve a 1.5-second Function hold for exit.

Install

  1. Use a separate SD card of at least 16 GB.
  2. Verify the downloaded files with SHA256SUMS.
  3. Extract plumOS-Pixel2-0.1.3.img from plumOS-Pixel2-v0.1.3-sd-image.7z.
  4. Write the .img with Raspberry Pi Imager, balenaEtcher, or an equivalent writer.
  5. Insert the card into Pixel2 and keep power stable during first setup.
  6. First boot expands PLUMOS_SYS, creates PLUMOS_USER, and may reboot once.

Update From v0.1.2

Copy plumos-pixel2-runtime-0.1.3.tar.gz to the visible updates directory on
the PLUMOS_USER partition, safely eject the card, and run System Update from
the frontend. Keep power stable until the frontend returns. The .sha256 file
is provided for manual verification and is not consumed by the updater.

This signed update accepts the public v0.1.2 Runtime as its exact source and
updates 99 managed files without deletions. ROMs, BIOS files, saves, states,
Wi-Fi credentials, settings, and PortMaster-installed content are preserved.
Development builds and other source versions must use the fresh SD image.

Writing the image erases the selected card. Do not write it to the original
stockOS card. Back up ROMs, BIOS files, saves, and settings before replacing an
existing plumOS card. This image is only for GKD Pixel2.

The public initial SSH login is root / plumos. Change it after installation
if network services are enabled.

Included

  • plumOS frontend, six-system default grid, settings, Apps, and POWER menu;
  • RetroArch and the Pixel2 libretro catalog, PicoArch, PCSX-ReARMed, DraStic,
    PPSSPP, OpenBOR, Pyxel, and user-supplied PICO-8 support;
  • PortMaster, File Manager, Music Player, scraping, and network services;
  • first-boot storage expansion, signed Runtime updates, and A/B System updates;
  • Pixel2 display/input/audio/power integration and USB Wi-Fi support.

Pixel2-Specific Limits

  • Pixel2 has one USB port. USB Wi-Fi and charging cannot be used simultaneously
    without external hardware.
  • ADB is not included. Remote maintenance uses USB Wi-Fi and SSH/SFTP.
  • Saturn is not supported on the RK3326 performance target.
  • ROMs, game BIOS files, proprietary PICO-8 files, and user content are not included.

Build From Source

From a clean checkout with the registered local stock boot inputs:

./scripts/prepare-pixel2-release.sh --version 0.1.3

Docker, internet access for pinned upstream sources, 7-Zip, and sufficient free
working space are required.

plumOS-authored material is MIT-licensed. Stock/vendor files and bundled

plumOS Pixel2 v0.1.3は、GKD Pixel2専用のSDカードLinux
ディストリビューションです。Pixel2 stock Linux 5.10.198のboot基盤を維持しながら、

このrelease imageはrepositoryのstrict host gateと再現性確認に合格しています。正式な
v0.1.3 Runtime payloadをGKD Pixel2実機へ適用し、frontendとWi-Fiの復帰、mutable data
保持、standalone N64の起動・表示・音声まで確認しました。fresh-card経路はimage、初回boot
geometry、provisioningの自動試験に合格していますが、このpoint releaseでは新規SDへの
operator再試験は行っていません。

変更内容

  • Rockbox表示、process cleanup、Apps/Ports終了後のfrontend復帰を含む、共通の
    PortMaster互換layerを強化しました。
  • RetroArchのmenu選択（RGUI、Ozone、XMB）を尊重し、Pixel2画面でのOzone logical
    viewportを修正しました。
  • Pixel2向けdisplay、audio、input統合を備えたstandalone Mupen64Plus 2.6.0を、
    N64の追加選択肢として実装しました。
  • non-aligned DMA writeに対するstandalone N64 SRAM保存を修正しました。
  • 物理十字キーを標準ではN64 analogへ割り当て、Function短押しでanalog/D-padを切り替え、
    1.5秒のFunction長押しを終了操作にしました。

インストール

  1. 16 GB以上の別のSDカードを用意します。
  2. SHA256SUMSでdownloadしたfileを確認します。
  3. plumOS-Pixel2-v0.1.3-sd-image.7zからplumOS-Pixel2-0.1.3.imgを展開します。
  4. Raspberry Pi Imager、balenaEtcherなどで.imgをSDカードへ書き込みます。
  5. Pixel2へ挿入し、初回setup中は安定した電源を維持します。
  6. 初回起動時にPLUMOS_SYSが拡張され、PLUMOS_USERが作成されます。必要な場合は
    1回だけ自動再起動します。

v0.1.2からのアップデート

plumos-pixel2-runtime-0.1.3.tar.gzをPLUMOS_USER partitionの見える
updatesディレクトリへコピーし、安全に取り外してからfrontendのSystem Updateを
実行します。frontendへ戻るまで安定した電源を維持してください。.sha256は手動確認用で、
実機updaterが読み込む必須ファイルではありません。

この署名updateは公開版v0.1.2 Runtimeだけを更新元として受理し、削除なしで管理対象
99ファイルを更新します。ROM、BIOS、save、state、Wi-Fi資格情報、設定、PortMasterで
追加したcontentは保持されます。開発版など異なるversionからは新規SD imageを使用してください。

書き込み先SDカードは消去されます。元のstockOSカードへ書き込まないでください。
既存plumOSカードを置き換える場合は、ROM、BIOS、save、設定をbackupしてください。
このimageはGKD Pixel2専用です。

公開初期SSH loginはroot / plumosです。network serviceを有効にする場合は、
install後に変更してください。

    queryを記録しないdiagnostic logを使用します。
  • proprietaryなPICO-8 fileをplumOSへ同梱せず、利用者が用意する現行PICO-8 ARM64
    runtime（0.2.7以降）へ対応しました。
  • PICO-8 gameの起動、終了、frontendへの復帰を維持しました。

  • correct Pixel2 DRM rotation/aspect handling so game and menu surfaces use the

Build From Source

From a clean checkout with the registered local stock boot inputs:

Docker, internet access for pinned upstream sources, 7-Zip, and sufficient free
working space are required.

変更内容

  • 実績のある従来mGBAを維持したままmGBA Modernを追加し、Color Correctionと
    Interframe Blendingを選択可能にしました。
  • battery saveは従来mGBAと共有し、mGBA Modernのsavestateは分離しました。
  • RetroArchのCore Provided、custom、full-screenのaspect設定を有効化しました。
  • Pixel2 DRMの回転・aspect処理を修正し、game画面とmenu画面を同じ比率で表示します。

    1回だけ自動再起動します。

v0.1.0からのアップデート

plumos-pixel2-runtime-0.1.1.tar.gzをPLUMOS_USER partitionの見える
updatesディレクトリへコピーし、安全に取り外してからfrontendのSystem Updateを
実行します。frontendへ戻るまで安定した電源を維持してください。.sha256は手動確認用で、
実機updaterが読み込む必須ファイルではありません。

この署名updateは公開版v0.1.0 Runtimeだけを更新元として受理し、削除なしで管理対象
81ファイルを更新します。ROM、BIOS、save、state、Wi-Fi資格情報、設定、PortMasterで
追加したcontentは保持されます。開発版など異なるversionからは新規SD imageを使用してください。

書き込み先SDカードは消去されます。元のstockOSカードへ書き込まないでください。
既存plumOSカードを置き換える場合は、ROM、BIOS、save、設定をbackupしてください。
このimageはGKD Pixel2専用です。

公開初期SSH loginはroot / plumosです。network serviceを有効にする場合は、
install後に変更してください。

plumOS Pixel2 v0.1.0 is a GKD Pixel2-specific SD-card Linux distribution.
It retains the stock Pixel2 Linux 5.10.198 boot substrate while plumOS manages
the frontend, emulators, applications, settings, storage, networking, updates,
power behavior, and user data.

The release image passed the repository's strict host gates and was booted and
read back on real GKD Pixel2 hardware.

Asset

  • plumOS-Pixel2-v0.1.0-sd-image.7z: compressed SD-card image for GKD Pixel2.
  • plumOS-Pixel2-v0.1.0-source.tar.gz: exact release source, recipes, and patches.
  • RELEASE_MANIFEST.json: source/image provenance and immutable hashes.
  • SHA256SUMS: checksums for every release asset.

Install

  1. Use a separate SD card of at least 16 GB.
  2. Verify the downloaded files with SHA256SUMS.
  3. Extract plumOS-Pixel2-0.1.0.img from plumOS-Pixel2-v0.1.0-sd-image.7z.
  4. Write the .img with Raspberry Pi Imager, balenaEtcher, or an equivalent writer.
  5. Insert the card into Pixel2 and keep power stable during first setup.
  6. First boot expands PLUMOS_SYS, creates PLUMOS_USER, and may reboot once.

Writing the image erases the selected card. Do not write it to the original
stockOS card. Back up ROMs, BIOS files, saves, and settings before replacing an
existing plumOS card. This image is only for GKD Pixel2.

The public initial SSH login is root / plumos. Change it after installation
if network services are enabled.
