The veil brings its own model: the-veil-12b, downloaded from Settings and served in-process,
GPU-accelerated where there is a card, updated in place without a restart. Long agentic
sessions hold together - the 15-25s freezes are gone, scrollback no longer destroys history,
a waiting tool cannot hold a turn open forever, local models can use tools again.

Also fixes three defects in the release plumbing: macOS Intel bundles were never actually
shipping (retired macos-13 runner), every Download button resolved to a build-asset blob
(/releases/latest skips pre-releases), and desk/build.zig.zon had been stuck at 1.0.0.
