A maintenance release built from the first round of community bug reports against 0.1.78. Most of the fixes come from Andreas Haerter (@andreashaerter), with thanks. Two items touch firmware behaviour that has only been exercised in QEMU and are marked below.
Action required after upgrading
- Re-patch Windows images for SMB. Share names now include the image identifier so two images from the same ISO no longer collide (#217). Existing Windows images need Patch SMB run again from the image properties before they will boot.
Boot path
- Boot from Local Disk hands control back to the firmware instead of dropping into the menu or the manual prompt (#215). BIOS clients start the first disk directly; UEFI clients exit to the firmware boot order. The default bootloader set is rebuilt, so clients pick the change up on their next boot. Verified under SeaBIOS and OVMF only; reports from real firmware are welcome.
- proxyDHCP behind a DHCP relay. Replies to relayed requests are unicast to the relay and now carry the broadcast flag, so the relay can deliver a proxy offer that assigns no address, which iPXE's own DHCP pass needs (#129). The DHCP guide gains a relay section and recommends option 66 on the main DHCP server as a fallback on routed networks. Not reproducible in the test suite; confirmation from a relayed site is welcome.
- Startup fails when a required listener cannot bind. An occupied boot HTTP, admin HTTP or TFTP port now exits with status 1 instead of leaving Bootimus running without that listener (#216).
Admin interface and API
- Windows SMB state is shown on the Server Info running status, and the image properties warning explains how to enable it at startup (#214).
- Explicit false values survive creation. Enrolment rules, client groups, image groups, scheduled tasks, clients and webhook toggles no longer have
enabled: falseorpriority: 0replaced by defaults when created through the API (#219). - Deletions clear dangling references. Removing a SAN target or disk image clears deployment-profile references; removing a profile clears enrolment-rule references and disables rules left without an action. A failed disk-image removal rolls back and can be retried (#220).
- Client timeline pagination no longer skips events that share a timestamp. The
next_beforevalue is now an opaque cursor that API clients should pass back unchanged (#228). - Docs: auto-install API examples corrected (#218), boot security and the iPXE update checks clarified (#232), and
docs/openapi.jsonis refreshed on every version bump.
