Collect v0.1.2 — initial public release

Trustworthy field evidence. Offline on any phone.

Collect is an offline-first progressive web application (PWA) designed for research teams and field data collection in disconnected, challenging, or low-connectivity environments.

Core Capabilities

  • Offline-first guided field capture: One field per step, 44pt touch targets, keyboard-aware mobile viewport handling, reduced-motion and high-contrast support. Text, numbers with units, single/multiple choice, tri-state, dates, GPS coordinates, photos, audio recordings, and repeatable field groups.
  • Durable local persistence: Drafts, submissions, media blobs, and outbox queues commit to an isolated per-account IndexedDB database (collect-local-v1-<userId>) before showing Saved on this device.
  • Explicit receipt semantics: Submissions move to SYNCED only upon receiving an authoritative server finalization receipt. Interrupted uploads resume idempotently across network reconnects and multi-tab leases.
  • Immutable evidence model: Published schema versions and finalized submissions are cryptographically referenced and immutable. Conflicting edits are explicit, never silently overwritten.
  • Provider-first authentication: Google and Apple sign-in, with passwordless email links, passwords, and 8-character single-use device-link codes bridging iOS Safari and installed PWA containers without email roundtrips.
  • Multi-tenant workspace isolation: Automatic institutional domain grouping (e.g. @liminalfutures.com into shared workspace), isolated personal organizations for generic providers (@gmail.com, etc.), and granular cross-organization project memberships for contributors.
  • Server-enforced consent & attention verification: Server rejects submissions without active consent. In-memory instruction checks evaluate reliability scores without leaking check questions/answers into research datasets.
  • FAIR checkpoint exports: Self-contained ZIP archives containing canonical JSONL, RFC-4180 CSVs, RFC 7946 GeoJSON, DataCite 4.4 kernel metadata, data dictionaries, schema version histories, and original media with SHA-256 hashes.
  • Zero vendor lock-in: Deploys against any Supabase PostgreSQL backend and static web host with automated CLI provisioning (npm run provision).

Note on Pre-1.0 Versioning: Collect is under active development. Public interfaces, deployment scripts, and schema versions may evolve between pre-1.0 minor releases.
