BARTOC.org 1.8.0 improves concept browsing and terminology metadata editing. The concept browser now uses jskos-vue and handles multiple data sources and unavailable APIs more clearly.

Highlights

Concept browser

  • Rebuilt concept browsing with jskos-vue. Search, the concept tree, and details of the selected concept are shown together.
  • Added data source selection and support for APIs that provide concept search without a browsable tree.
  • Kept the selected concept when switching tabs, and improved loading, error, and retry behavior when a data source or concept cannot be retrieved.

Terminology metadata

  • Added a media field to the terminology editor and thumbnails for image and IIIF media in terminology records (#240).
  • Added an issue tracker URL field to the editor and displayed issue tracker links in the Access tab (#297).
  • Displayed registry titles instead of identifiers in the Part of field (#347).
  • Displayed full language names and linked them to a terminology search filtered by language (#351).

Other changes

  • Rearranged terminology page tabs and grouped fields more clearly (see #343).
  • Updated partner logos on the About page, including the TS4NFDI logo (#354).
  • Used edition more consistently for terminology versions and removed the legacy MARCSPEC, PICAPATH, and CQLKEY fields from the terminology page.
  • Added a data quality report for terminologies with an API but no notation examples.
  • Updated dependencies, including security fixes through Vitest 4.1.11 and Express 4.22.3.
