The text area can now be decoded as UTF-8, Latin-1 or UTF-16 (little and
big endian) in addition to ASCII. A multi byte character is drawn in the
column of the first byte of its sequence, so every byte stays aligned
with its hex value.
The default encoding is configured in Edit / Options and is applied every
time a file is opened; Edit / Text Encoding changes only the file
currently open.
The encoding in use is shown in the status bar.
The data inspector "ASCII" field is now "Text": it follows the selected
encoding and reports the character under the cursor when nothing is
selected. Its hex counterpart is no longer blanked for selections longer
than eight bytes.
The diff window is laid out properly: both panes follow the window when
it is resized, and it opens wide enough to show the two text areas.
