@gcurtis gcurtis released this 30 Jul 08:39

Changes:

  • Rules can now be configured or disabled with a .commitfmt file in the root of the repository.
  • Added a new subj-regex rule that checks that the subject of a message matches a regex. This can be useful for verifying that a commit subject has a ticket number in it, for example.
  • More documentation was added around creating and configuring rules.

@gcurtis gcurtis released this 28 Jul 00:48

Changes:

  • Properly strip lines that occur after the "snip" line in a commit message. This is usually the line that tells git to ignore the diff in a commit message if you use git commit -v.
  • Violations are sorted by position, so that violations that occur earlier in the message appear at the top of the output.
  • This and future releases will only provide 64-bit downloads. 32-bit can still be built from source.
  • Documentation updates and code cleanup.

@gcurtis gcurtis released this 27 Jul 06:07

The initial pre-release of commitfmt.

This release is completely usable and all of the rules in the README have been implemented. However, they still need to be more thoroughly tested and false-positives may occur.
