Noop Aura 12.0.0 Beta (1207)
Noop Aura 12.0.0 Beta (1207)
A test build ahead of the next release. It brings the new Fitness module, rebuilt activity detection and a
fix for sleep counting time awake in bed as sleep. Please try it tonight and report what you see.
Sleep: time asleep vs time in bed
- Awake in bed is no longer counted as sleep. Lying awake before falling asleep, or staying in bed
after waking, used to be scored as light sleep. Aura now checks the start and end of each night for a
pulse above your sleeping level, small wrist movements, and the strap's own awake signal, and counts
those minutes as awake. Time asleep, efficiency, sleep debt, Rest and the sleep written to Apple Health
all use the corrected figures. - New "In bed and asleep" card on Rest: time asleep, time in bed and time awake in bed, with when you
got into bed, fell asleep, woke and got up. - Applies to nights recorded from this build on; older nights keep their numbers.
Fitness (new tab)
- Fitness replaces Rest in the tab bar; Rest is now a row on Today.
- Week strip, activity, routines, training load, cardio and strength, muscle freshness, with a detail page
for each and a muscle-groups body map. - Routines: build your own from a searchable exercise catalogue, schedule them on a calendar, start them.
- Redesigned live lift screen: set table, inline weights and reps, rest timer, add exercises mid-session.
Activity detection
- Rebuilt from the ground up. It now catches lifting, intervals, swims and easy sessions it used to miss,
and logs them automatically as detected activities you can rename, correct or delete. Can be turned off
in Edit Fitness.
Fixes
- Sync now shows what is happening: syncing, synced, already up to date, or why it failed, and when the
strap last synced. - Lock-screen widgets showed a dash. The small round widget now shows your live heart rate (last
night's Rest when there is no recent reading); the rectangular one shows heart rate, Effort and Rest. - Widgets installed through SideStore now find the app's data.
- Live Activity: red heart and heart rate in the Dynamic Island, nothing clipped at the edges.
- Trends: every metric opens an interactive history with periods and date navigation.
- Rest, You and Trends reorganised so each thing lives in one place.
Install
The IPA is unsigned. Sign it with AltStore, SideStore, Feather or Sideloadly as usual. This is a
pre-release, so the in-app update check will not offer it.

Noop Aura 12.0.0
Noop Aura 12.0.0
The first non-experimental Aura release for iPhone, built on NOOP 12.0.0. It answers the reports
from the 11.7 experimental build and brings in everything upstream shipped for 12.0.
Fixed from the reports
- WHOOP 4.0 live heart rate. Aura now asks the strap for realtime heart rate while the app is
open, so a 4.0 shows a live pulse on Today, Breathe and in sessions. - Taps that did nothing. Many rows only answered a tap on their text; the whole row answers now.
- Navigation. Swiping back returns to the screen you came from, and to where you were scrolled
on it. The screen follows your finger during the swipe. Sheets can be dragged down to close. - Half-width and misaligned screens. Wide background glows no longer stretch the layout, so
pages, sheets and the terms gate sit on the screen as designed. - Goals. A goal set in Aura is now measured from its starting point instead of never moving.
- Lift. The first "Log the set" logs the set, the session clock and rest timer run live, and a
saved lift becomes today's session. - Smaller fixes across Rest, Day, Svea, Labs, Trends and You: alarm copy says only what the
strap does, the energy figure is never cut off, the body-profile form names its fields, a glass of
water logged with + counts in Hydration, and more.
New in Aura
- Tab bar: five equal icon buttons on a translucent bar that keeps Aura's colours.
- No more old NOOP screens. Pairing, Hydration, Storage, Weekly digest, Trends report (with PDF
export), Your data fused, Siri and Shortcuts, Shortcuts export, How Noop works and Strap
limitations now have Aura pages. Weekly digest and Trends report are also linked from Trends. - Svea: hold the mic to speak.
- Update check: Settings → Check for updates looks at this repository's releases.
From upstream NOOP 12.0.0
Everything in ryanbr/noop 12.0.0, merged where it fits
Aura: Health write-back fixes, the strap log archive, Lift Log timing, coach brief scheduling, and a
session under a minute is no longer saved.
Important limits
- Intraday Charge has no approved ledger yet, so Aura does not show it, and morning recovery is
never presented as Charge. - Body Age and other long views need enough recorded data. An empty view is not a reading.
- The strap's own alarm on a WHOOP 5.0 is still experimental and off unless you allow it.
- Health and training values are estimates, not diagnoses or medical advice. This project is
independent of WHOOP.
Installing
The attached iOS IPA is unsigned. A sideloader such as AltStore, SideStore or Feather must sign
it for your Apple ID. It includes the widget extension. For widgets and the live heart-rate banner
to appear, your signer must provision the extension and its App Group as well as the app;
without the App Group, the app works but widgets do not appear in the widget gallery. This is not
an App Store release.
Moving from NOOP
Noop Aura installs as a separate app beside NOOP, so it starts empty. To bring your record across:
- In NOOP, open Settings → Advanced → Backup & restore and export a backup (
.noopbak). - In Noop Aura, open You → Data and permissions → Backup and sync → Restore from a .noopbak, pick
that file, then quit and reopen Noop Aura. - Pair your strap in Noop Aura (You → Your strap → Pair a new strap). A strap stays paired to one
app at a time, so unpair it in NOOP first if it does not appear.
Updating Noop Aura in place keeps your data only when the signed bundle identity stays the same. If
you change sideloader or Apple ID, export a backup first.
The screenshots on the project page are from the iOS
Simulator with Debug-only example data. They show the design, not readings you will receive.

Noop Aura 11.7.0 Experimental (1104)
Noop Aura 11.7.0 — experimental iPhone release
This is a development build, based on the NOOP 11.7 line. It makes the current Aura iOS interface available for testing, not as a finished health product. The app may have incomplete flows, visual differences from the design reference, and device-specific bugs. Please keep a backup of any local record you care about before trying it.
In this build
- The Aura iPhone navigation and designed screens are present across sleep, Today, sessions, trends, settings, ages, coach, goals, labs and instrument views.
- Where the app has a supported real data source, Release uses the wearer's record. The sample person and sample measurements used for design screenshots are Debug-only.
- The 20 September 11.7 design handoff, including the interactive HTML and engineering notes, is published with the source so the intended interface is inspectable.
Important limits
- Intraday Charge has no approved ledger yet. It must not be inferred from morning recovery. Some Charge-dependent figures or explanations will therefore be unavailable.
- Body Age and other longitudinal views need sufficient supported data. An unready view is not a measurement.
- Some surfaces are still being wired or verified against the design; an HTML prototype screen does not mean its underlying feature is ready in this build.
- Bluetooth recording, Apple Health write-back, widgets and Live Activities can vary with hardware, permissions and how the IPA is signed. They have not all been verified on the public sideload identity.
- Health and training values are estimates, not diagnoses or medical advice. This project is independent of WHOOP.
Installing
The attached iOS IPA is unsigned. A sideloader such as AltStore or SideStore must sign it for your Apple ID. The package includes the iOS widget extension; your signer must provision the extension and App Group as well as the app. If it cannot, the installation may fail. This is not an App Store release.
Updating in place preserves local data only when the final signed bundle identity stays the same. If you are changing sideloaders or identities, export a backup first. Do not delete an existing installation to troubleshoot without a backup.
The screenshots on the project page are from the iOS Simulator with Debug-only example data. They demonstrate appearance, not readings you will receive in Release.

Noop Aura 10.1.0 Preview (1021)
A new surface for NOOP
NOOP Aura is an experimental, iPhone-first interface for NOOP 10.1.0. The proven WHOOP 5.0 Bluetooth, local database, analytics, and Apple Health pipeline stay underneath; Aura replaces the surface with a calmer, clearer way to understand recovery, sleep, effort, and long-term trends.
The goal is simple: WHOOP 5.0 → NOOP → Apple Health → your preferred health app, with NOOP remaining useful and understandable on its own. Processing remains on-device by default.
This is a preview of an active redesign. Screenshots use simulator demo data; your available metrics depend on the data actually decoded from your strap.

NOOP-Aura-iOS-v10.1.0-1021-unsigned.ipa— full build with widgets and Live Activity. Use this when your signer supports App Groups and app extensions.NOOP-Aura-iOS-v10.1.0-1021-no-widgets-unsigned.ipa— compatibility build without extensions. Use this if the full build fails to install because your signer cannot provision the widget or App Group. Dynamic Island and widgets are unavailable in this build.
Installation and HealthKit
Both IPAs are unsigned and must be signed with your own certificate and provisioning profile.
- Native Apple Health export requires an explicit App ID whose profile grants HealthKit.
- The full build also requires matching App Group entitlements for the app and widget extension. A signer that merely changes the bundle ID may not configure those entitlements correctly.
- To preserve existing local data, update the app in place with the same final signed bundle ID. Deleting it first removes its local database unless you exported a backup.
- Built for iOS 16 or later; primarily tested on iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 27 beta.
This is an unofficial community preview and is not affiliated with WHOOP. Treat health metrics as informational, especially while running beta iOS software.
