Stepler 1.3.19
Fixes photos missing from received mentions in the macOS and Windows desktop apps while the same photos were visible on web and iPhone. The desktop sync snapshot now retains attachments on the task and its subtasks, including the downloaded local file identifiers needed for display, preview and copying.
The regression check now passes mention photos through the production snapshot serializer before sending them to the app window, so it covers the data boundary that previously dropped them.
Validation: 44 unit checks and 22 desktop scenarios. Includes universal macOS and Windows x64 installers and updater feeds. Native iOS remains 1.3.18 (8); this fixes desktop-only code.
The current macOS ad-hoc signature may require manual installation when automatic installation is rejected by macOS.
Stepler 1.3.18
Photos attached to tasks that mention you now appear on desktop, web and iPhone, including subtask attachments. Each recipient receives a private file copy, with photo preview and image copying on desktop and iPhone. Delivery also handles older clients that omitted attachment metadata.
Settings now separates appearance, account and sync, shortcuts, integrations, data, and support into focused pages. The project sidebar uses compact rows, quiet counts, and a clearer selection. Its controls keep their position when hovered, and the new-project action is translated in every supported language. On iPhone, settings opens a short list of sections instead of one long form.
Mobile search stays hidden until the top-right search button is pressed, then opens at the top with keyboard focus. The iPhone timeline keeps older tasks above newer tasks and opens at the bottom.
Includes universal macOS and Windows x64 installers and updater feeds. Existing desktop apps discover version 1.3.18 at startup, during their scheduled check, or in Settings → Help & updates → Check for updates. The current macOS ad-hoc signature requires manual installation when automatic installation is rejected by macOS.
Native iOS version: 1.3.18 (8), tagged ios-v1.3.18-build8. Installed and launched on the paired iPhone. Native iOS distribution uses Xcode, TestFlight or the App Store separately from desktop updates.
Validation: 43 unit checks, 22 desktop regression scenarios, responsive web photo/settings checks, and native iOS unit/UI tests. GitHub separately checks macOS, Windows, Firebase rules/reporting, and native iOS before release verification.

Stepler 1.3.16
Stepler 1.3.16 restores syncing after upgrading from older releases. It correctly reads the saved sync history used through 1.3.13, preserving queued edits, subtasks, projects, reminders and attachments while merging changes from another device. This fixes the “base.filter is not a function” error.
It also includes the 1.3.15 improvements:
- Reliable image copying, including PNG conversion and combined task text/image copying.
- Sync recovery after reconnecting or waking the app, with a retry button in Settings.
- Settings → Report an issue, with optional contact information and basic diagnostics. Reports are saved on the server and delivered to the owner's Stepler Reports Telegram bot; failed submissions retain their draft.
Includes a universal macOS build for Apple Silicon and Intel, and a Windows x64 installer. Existing desktop apps discover this release at startup, on their scheduled update check, or through Settings → Check for updates.
The native iOS timeline now places older tasks at the top and newer tasks at the bottom, opening at the bottom by default. The tested native build is 1.3.15 (4), tagged ios-v1.3.15-build4; iOS distribution uses Xcode, App Store or TestFlight separately from the desktop updater.
Stepler 1.3.15
Stepler 1.3.15 fixes image copying, improves sync recovery after reconnecting or waking the app, and adds Settings → Report an issue.
- Copy images as PNG, including images decoded from SVG, GIF, WebP, and AVIF. Copy task text and its image together, and preserve the clipboard during selection capture.
- Retry sync from Settings. Local changes stay saved while offline, and reconnecting resumes pending changes without overwriting newer edits.
- Report an issue with optional contact information and basic diagnostics. A successful submission confirms that the server saved the report; failed submissions retain the draft.
Includes macOS builds for Apple Silicon and Intel, plus a Windows x64 installer. Existing desktop apps discover this release at startup, on their next scheduled update check, or through the update check in Settings.
The repository also includes the corresponding native iOS fixes. Native iOS distribution uses Xcode/App Store/TestFlight separately from the desktop updater.

Stepler 1.3.12
Fixes a sign-in button that could still refuse — and blamed the wrong thing when it did.
1.3.11 shipped the Google credentials, but if you opened Settings and clicked before the app had finished setting Google up, it told you your copy "was built without Google sign-in". That was untrue, and it sent people looking for a problem that was not there. Setting up takes a moment on a cold machine, and the button now waits for it instead of guessing.
Google Calendar's settings row had the same problem and lost the same way: asked too early, it reported the integration as unconfigured and offered no Connect button.
If Google sign-in ever does fail now, the message says which of the three possible reasons it actually was.
Stepler 1.3.11
Signing in with Google now works in an installed copy.
It never did before, on any platform. The app looked for its Google credentials in a file that only ever existed on the developer's own machine, so in every downloaded build the button failed before it opened anything — and reported it as "Sign-in failed. Please try again.", advice that could not have worked. The credentials ship with the app now, and an error you cannot act on is no longer disguised as one you can.
Sign-in also no longer depends on port 3000 being free. If something else holds it, Stepler takes another port instead of losing its local server — which previously took the CLI down with it and killed sign-in with no explanation.
Sign-in is PKCE-protected, and connecting Google Calendar while a sign-in tab is still open no longer breaks whichever one finishes second.
