Why choose this edition?

See more of a song at once. Split Screen replaces the single highway with two to six synchronized screens, raising the previous four-screen ceiling with new five-screen and six-screen layouts. Put lead, rhythm, bass, vocals, notation, and a practice visualization side by side while every screen follows one shared playback clock.

Each screen keeps its own arrangement, visualization, controls, scoring context, and display settings. Screens can also be popped into separate windows or shared to another device, making the plugin useful for dense practice setups, ensembles, multi-monitor rigs, and teaching displays.nn## What is included

• Five-screen (2 over 3) and six-screen (3×2) layouts, increasing the main-player maximum from four synchronized screens to six.
• CSS Grid sizing for the three-, four-, five-, and six-screen layouts so every row remains correctly sized, clickable, and focusable.n- Generic per-panel visualization settings from capabilities.visualization.settings`, with values applied to the specific renderer instance.
• Restore logic that reapplies only saved panel overrides; untouched panels continue following the provider's global setting.
• Stable player contexts per panel, propagated to Note Detect and published through the host lifecycle.
• One coordinated frame driver for all split panels, plus deterministic offline-render hooks added in 2301dd5 and completed in 87e3622a.
• Stronger LAN share lifecycle handling and removal of dead Tab View and Jumping Tab pane integrations.

Optional integrations

Split Screen has no peer-plugin requirement for basic multi-panel playback. It discovers optional peers by their public APIs or visualization capabilities.

Lyrics mode is built into Split Screen and does not require Lyrics Karaoke. Visualization providers are optional and the built-in highway remains available when none are installed.

Requirements

Basic split view has a source-level candidate floor at feedBack commit b6169af, the commit behind the upstream v0.3.0-alpha.1 tag, which contains multi-instance createHighway, renderer switching/lifecycle, and playback/arrangement metadata. LAN sharing additionally requires feedBack commit 03e1c1d, which adds /ws/sync/{session_id}. Coordinated/offline rendering and per-player identity have later, optional feature floors; see feedBack#102 for the full matrix.

Compatibility caveats:

• These are source-level findings based on grep and Git history, not end-to-end runtime certification against every listed historical build.
• minHost and version metadata are not enforced by the plugin loader today; they are advisory only.
• FFmpeg/WebCodecs, MIDI browser support, and transcription services are separate runtime prerequisites, unrelated to core version.
• Raising a documented minimum does not fix any plugin bugs listed under Known issues.

Known issues

• #69: feature-specific core minimums are not yet declared in the manifest.
• #70: peer floors remain undocumented. Per-panel scoring needs Note Detect >=1.15.2; chord overlays need Fretboard >=1.0.0. Missing or older peers currently degrade without a version-specific message.
• #66 remains open administratively, but its described implementation is present: Split Screen #67/#68 generalized the host, Piano #38 added its provider, and feedBack #101 added Keys Highway 3D. No residual code gap was identified in this release audit.
• #50 also remains open administratively, although merged PR #62 states that it closes the requested player-context work. It needs verification/issue cleanup rather than being treated as absent from this release.
