Important

This release is not signed with a Developer ID or notarized by Apple, so macOS will not open it at first.

  • The first time you open it (and after each update): open Athina, choose Done when macOS says it cannot check it, then go to System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll to Security, choose Open Anyway next to Athina, and confirm.
  • After each update, until releases are signed: macOS asks again whether Athina may read its saved API key; choose Always Allow. Screen Recording and Accessibility carry over; if System Settings shows either on but Athina reports it missing, remove Athina from that list with the minus button and add it again.

This build skipped:

  • sign with Developer ID and a secure timestamp (no Developer ID Application identity in the keychain; set ATHINA_RELEASE_IDENTITY)
  • notarize and staple the app (Apple notarizes only a Developer ID signature, skipped above)
  • sign the disk image (no Developer ID Application identity in the keychain; set ATHINA_RELEASE_IDENTITY)
  • notarize and staple the disk image (Apple notarizes only a Developer ID signature, skipped above)
  • Gatekeeper assessment with spctl (it accepts only a notarized Developer ID signature)

Requires macOS 26 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.

Install

Open Athina-0.2.0.dmg and drag Athina onto Applications, or unzip Athina-0.2.0.zip into Applications.

⚠ BREAKING CHANGES

  • remove the one-time move of Mentor's data (#110)
  • macOS keys Screen Recording and Accessibility to the bundle identifier, so both must be granted again by hand for Athina in System Settings, and the app must then be quit and reopened. The first launch also shows the system's keychain prompt for the item saved under com.ahcarpenter.mentor; Always Allow copies the key across, Deny means pasting it into Settings > Models instead. See README, "Coming from Mentor".
