Install

• Browser edition: unzip bimcraft-browser-edition-v0.7.0.zip onto any web server (or run python3 -m http.server 8000 inside it) and open it. INSTALL.md in the folder has the rest.
• Desktop: install CadCraft Studio for Windows or Linux.

What's in 0.7

BimCraft 0.7 draws more of a building: walls through several levels, Copy this level, and walls, doors, windows and rooms from a PDF or a scanned plan, one level per page (no network and no trained model; check each level against its page). Wall assemblies, a material library and reference dimensions came from a community contributor, Doc; display units, view controls and floor joists by span from another, Joel. 17 more electrical devices. Families gain typed parameters, their own plan symbols, arrays, detail levels, nested families, hotspots and sizes from a CSV table. MEP equipment with IFC ports, runs connected to them, ready-made clash sets, clearances, an openings list and steel pipe spool sheets: drafting and coordination aids, with no flows, pressures or balancing. Documents per asset, COBie 2.4 out and back in, and sensor readings from a CSV or live from your own MQTT broker. Vertical sky component, sun through the windows, daylight factor on a grid and heating and cooling loads per room: design aids by published methods, not compliance calculations. Register scans; a live view beside the 3D view with Walk and time of day; with WebGPU, path tracing on the graphics card with a physical sky, a camera, fog and a render queue (tested here on a software graphics stand-in only, not yet on real graphics cards). STEP opens as a small IFC model; USD export; Develop this mass from CivilCraft; library variants; project bundles from a folder. An assistant can change elements, export USD and render, each one undo step (the app contains no AI); add-on API 1.1; a Plant add-on, switched off until you turn it on. The classic toolbar now looks like CadCraft's. Every app gets unit lists, a Compact layout, panels that tidy away, dialogs that move and two new workspace layouts (Ribbon and project browser, Toolbox and info box), in the browser and in CadCraft Studio. Português (Portugal) is new; it, Português (Brasil), Español (México) and Bahasa Indonesia are machine-made drafts, not yet reviewed.

Notices

• Nothing in 0.7 is code-signed; code signing and the Microsoft Store come in 0.8. This browser edition needs no installer; CadCraft Studio's installers are not signed yet. Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC": choose More info, then Run anyway; the publisher shows as unknown. The Microsoft Store package is built but not in the Store yet, and the website's Windows package (MSIX) is not published: it is never published unsigned. Check the SHA-256 first.
• iPad, iPhone and Google Play moved to 0.8 with the signing. There is no iPad or iPhone build yet, and nothing is in an app store.
• Português (Portugal) (new), Português (Brasil), Español (México) and Bahasa Indonesia in Settings › General › Language are machine-made drafts, not yet reviewed by a native speaker.
• Updates: CadCraft Studio 0.7 checks getcadcraft.com for a newer version once a day (Settings › Updates) and always asks before installing; it installs only packages signed with CadCraft's update key. A copy older than 0.7 can't update itself: install 0.7 once from this page or the download page.

What's in 0.6

BimCraft gets the BIM tools you asked for on Discord: the pointer's coordinates with the origin and survey point, trim, extend and corner walls, grids with bubbles and columns at the crossings, floors of any shape and ramps, site and levels as tools, drawing on a point cloud, walls, doors and windows from a traced DWG or DXF, CivilCraft's LandXML ground, linked IFC models, and a project browser with view ranges, view templates and sheets of your own. Pipes and ducts with their fittings, valves and systems; assistants that can draw; frame analysis; setting-out points and as-built checks; VR review; project bundles and a kit for working between two BIM programs (not yet tried with those programs themselves); 4D stages and packages; E57, PLY, PCD and PTX. A second round adds a scale, crop region and underlay per plan, reflected ceiling plans, callouts, drafting lines and hatch in a view, curved walls, a wall's location line, moving and turning library items, gable and shed dormers, spiral stairs, interior elevations, level marks, dimensions and tags on elevations and sections, a .glb for rendering programs, Assets and Daylight tabs, and doors, windows and furniture in families (each size an ordinary IFC type) with a family editor. From a community contributor: wall drawing references, alignment guides while drawing walls, and a basement egress window with its well. Fixed: roofs that followed posts and garden walls, "Hinges: Flip" on fixed windows, the Render dialog in the model theme, the update message, Paint from the plan-only layout, painted walls that lost their color, hollow-looking sections, the section bar under the drawing bar, and a turned building is now shown square. Spanish (es-MX) and, new, Bahasa Indonesia are machine-made drafts, not yet reviewed.

Install

• Windows 10 or 11: run BimCraft-0.4-setup.exe. It installs for your user only, with no administrator rights.
• Linux (Debian, Ubuntu): sudo apt install ./BimCraft-0.4-amd64.deb
• Linux (any): chmod +x BimCraft-0.4-x86_64.AppImage, then run it.
• Browser: unzip bimcraft-browser-edition-v0.4.0.zip onto any web server (or run python3 -m http.server 8000 inside it) and open it. INSTALL.md in the folder has the rest.

What's in 0.4

Our own IFC engine replaces web-ifc: big files read in the background, curved surfaces and IFC4X3 alignments draw, and Archicad exports open fully. Delete, cut, copy and paste any element. Hide, isolate and see-through, a model tree, color by property, and several models in one scene. Find with search sets, clash check, model checks, BCF 2.1 issues, measure, walk mode, section box with filled cuts, quantity totals and a spaces schedule, compare versions and a 4D schedule. Pick objects in a drawing's 3D view. Touch screens, recovery of unsaved work, Ctrl+K, and a draft Spanish (Mexico) translation not yet reviewed. The offline copy is about half the size.
