Check a file before you run it: certutil -hashfile <file> SHA256 on Windows, sha256sum <file> on Linux. SHA256SUMS below lists all of them.

Install

  • Windows 10 or 11: run ModelCraft-0.4-setup.exe. It installs for your user only, with no administrator rights.
  • Linux (Debian, Ubuntu): sudo apt install ./ModelCraft-0.4-amd64.deb
  • Linux (any): chmod +x ModelCraft-0.4-x86_64.AppImage, then run it.
  • Browser: unzip modelcraft-browser-edition-v0.4.0.zip onto any web server (or run python3 -m http.server 8000 inside it) and open it. INSTALL.md in the folder has the rest.

What's in 0.4

New tools: Arc (A), Arc center, Curve, Offset (F), Follow me, Protractor, Paint (B) with a Colors panel, Flip, scale grips, Hide/Isolate, 3D Text and Terrain. Tags, section planes, Union/Subtract/Intersect with a solid checker, Intersect faces, soften by angle, movable axes, and Outliner search, eye and rename. A starter library of 34 things and components that stretch. DWG 2004 and DXF R12 export, PNG and PDF of the view, printing, IFC storeys. DWG/DXF site plans bring in text, splines, hatches and 3D faces. A circle drawn on a pushed face no longer falls flat. Touch, Recover your work, and a Spanish draft not yet reviewed.

Notices

  • The Windows installers are not code-signed yet. Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC": choose More info, then Run anyway. The publisher shows as unknown. Check the SHA-256 first. Code signing comes in a later release.
  • Español (México) in Settings › Language is a machine-made draft, not yet reviewed.
  • Automatic updates are off: new versions come from this page and from the download page.
