CadCraft Studio 0.7 for Windows, Linux and Android: the eight CadCraft apps together in one install, with a home screen that opens them and sends each file to the app that reads it. From 0.5 on, Studio is the desktop download for every app. Every app is free, and your files stay on your computer. Each app also runs on its own in the browser.

Check a file before you run it: certutil -hashfile <file> SHA256 on Windows, shasum -a 256 <file> on macOS, sha256sum <file> on Linux. SHA256SUMS below lists all of them.

Install

• Windows 10 or 11: run CadCraft-Studio-0.7-setup.exe. It installs for your user only, with no administrator rights, and carries the WebView2 runtime it needs.
• Windows portable: unzip CadCraft-Studio-0.7-portable.zip to a folder you can write to (the Desktop or a USB stick) and run CadCraft Studio.exe. The WebView2 runtime is inside, and Studio keeps its data in a data folder beside the program.
• Linux (Debian, Ubuntu): sudo apt install ./CadCraft-Studio-0.7-amd64.deb
• Linux (any): chmod +x CadCraft-Studio-0.7-x86_64.AppImage, then run it.
• Android 8 or later: open CadCraft-Studio-0.7.apk on the device; allow your browser or Files app to install unknown apps, and if Play Protect asks, More details › Install anyway. It is signed with CadCraft's own key and is not in Google Play.
• Each app on its own: on Windows and Linux every app has its own shortcut that opens Studio straight into it. On first start Studio brings over the settings, recent files and recovery copies of the separate 0.4 apps.

What's in 0.7

• Every app is 0.7. CadCraft Studio is still the one desktop download for all eight apps (the files are listed above). Each app also runs in the browser at getcadcraft.com/use.

• Check for updates, for real. Studio checks getcadcraft.com once a day (on by default, Settings › Updates) and on demand, always asks before installing, and installs only packages signed with CadCraft's own update key. The installer, the .deb and the AppImage update themselves; the Mac gets its updates from the download page for now. Tested on a real Windows 11 PC with test builds. A 0.6 copy can't update itself: install 0.7 once. A failed check now says why, and a What's new card you closed stays closed.

• A portable Windows zip, when it is listed above: unzip it and run CadCraft Studio.exe. The WebView2 runtime is inside, Studio keeps its data in a data folder beside the program, and it tells you about a newer zip but never replaces itself. Sign-in stays in that PC's credential store, so sign out before leaving a PC that is not yours.

• Printing from CadCraft's Plot dialog to the computer's printers, with paper and copies: through the system's print service on Linux and macOS, as a 300 dpi picture of the sheet on Windows. No printer settings dialog yet.

• History in CadCraft: the copies Studio keeps when you open and save a drawing (up to 25 per drawing, 400 MB), to open, restore or compare. Dialogs move in every app, CadCraft's Plot dialog can have its own window, and acad.lsp and acaddoc.lsp load from APPLOAD's support folder.

• Workspace layouts: Ribbon and project browser, and Toolbox and info box, in every app inside Studio (Settings › Global › Layout).

• Not code-signed, and in no app store: signing and the Microsoft Store come in 0.8. The Store package is built but not in the Store yet, and the website's Windows package (MSIX) is not published: it is never published unsigned. Check the SHA-256 first.

• Studio Live: work on one file together. On your local network, others join with a code from the Studio that hosts. Invite links over the internet are not open to the public yet.

Notices

• Nothing in 0.7 is code-signed; code signing and the Microsoft Store come in 0.8. The Studio installers are not signed yet. Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC": choose More info, then Run anyway; the publisher shows as unknown. The Microsoft Store package is built but not in the Store yet, and the website's Windows package (MSIX) is not published: it is never published unsigned. Check the SHA-256 first.
• iPad, iPhone and Google Play moved to 0.8 with the signing. There is no iPad or iPhone build yet, and nothing is in an app store.
• Português (Portugal) (new), Português (Brasil), Español (México) and Bahasa Indonesia in Settings › General › Language are machine-made drafts, not yet reviewed by a native speaker.
• Updates: CadCraft Studio 0.7 checks getcadcraft.com for a newer version once a day (Settings › Updates) and always asks before installing; it installs only packages signed with CadCraft's update key. A copy older than 0.7 can't update itself: install 0.7 once from this page or the download page.

CadCraft Studio is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. The libraries the apps use keep their own licenses, listed in THIRD_PARTY.md inside the install.

What's in 0.6

• Every app is 0.6. CadCraft Studio is still the one desktop download for all eight apps: Windows, Linux and Android (an APK signed with CadCraft's own key). Studio 0.6 for macOS follows; Studio 0.5 for macOS stays on the download page until then. Each app also runs in the browser at getcadcraft.com/use.

• The layout can't get lost. Settings › Reset the layout in every app puts the toolbar, panels, screen mode and menu style of all eight apps back to how they start, and Settings › Interface size sizes Studio's own window; each app has its own Show bars tab, Reset the layout, toolbar menu and interface size.

• Studio Live grows past 20 people when you allow it. When more people knock, Studio tells the host what to expect and the host can Allow anyway for that session or Keep it at 20. Recent edits in the Live panel shows who changed what, kept only for the session. Invite links over the internet are not open yet.

• Pen and touch in every app: palm ignored while you draw, fingers can move the view, a two-finger tap undoes and three redo.

• Settings › Legal with the operator, trademark notice, terms and privacy.

• Bahasa Indonesia, new: a machine-made draft for the home screen, the desktop shell and every app, beside the Spanish (Mexico) draft; neither is reviewed yet.

• Not code-signed yet, and in no app store: signing and the store submissions come next, in 0.7. Check the SHA-256 on the download page first.

• Studio Live: work on one file together. On your local network, others join with a code from the Studio that hosts. Invite links over the internet are not open to the public yet.
