Dango 1.0.11 is a patch release that fixes the Metabase credential migration introduced in 1.0.10.

Upgrade: pip install -U getdango, then dango stop && dango start in each project. Projects created before 1.0.10 migrate their Metabase admin password on that first start; you will see "Waiting for Metabase to be ready…" once and no further warnings.

Fixed

  • dango start and dango serve now wait for Metabase to be ready before migrating a legacy Metabase admin password and before importing dashboards. In 1.0.10 these steps ran while Metabase was still starting, so on projects created before 1.0.10 the credential migration never completed ("Metabase credential migration is incomplete" on every start, with failed Metabase logins and a failed dashboard import in the output). Upgraded projects now complete the migration on their first start; no data was affected. Restarts with nothing to migrate are unchanged and do not wait.

Security

  • The legacy Metabase admin password now actually moves out of .dango/metabase.yml into protected storage on the first start after upgrading, as intended in 1.0.10.

Known limitations

  • The cloud dango serve path, the remote MCP tools, and the cloud Docker Compose fixes are covered by automated tests but have not yet been verified against a live deployed server.
  • A non-default Metabase port is only partly supported (several components still assume localhost:3000).
