HOMEPAGE_ALLOWED_HOSTS isn't working for me

Description

I know there have been a number of discussions on this already but I cannot figure this out. The documentation says to "ensure that the host exactly as output in the logs is in the HOMEPAGE_ALLOWED_HOSTS list" but as you can see in my Dockge screenshot below, it is!

Cannot work out why this isn't working. I have even tried it with the wildcard asterisk on the allowed hosts but even that doesn't work. I imagine I'm missing something obvious!

Troubleshooting

• Tried wildcard asterisk for allowed hosts, same error
• Tried different port for container, same error

You need to re-create a container when you change env variables, not just restart. Also running the command env inside the container will show you the current ones. If the wildcard isn’t working it almost certainly means you haven’t actually set it correctly

Indeed, I was putting too much faith in Dockge. It was saying that it was recreating, but when I did as you suggested and checked the env with docker exec homepage env the HOMEPAGE_ALLOWED_HOSTS wasn't appearing, so clearly it wasn't recreating properly despite being definitely in my compose file.

In the end I decided to specify it in a separate .env file and point the compose file to that.
