That can be very confusing for locales that usually use dd/mm/yyyy format (e.g. French).

I propose using yyyy-mm-dd format instead since that's more internationally-recognized and less likely to be ambiguous. I think it would also be helpful to show an input mask to give users a hint that they can enter a date manually (https://primevue.org/inputmask/)

Good catch. I think having the input hint text is super helpful too! I should have included that in the story.
