• My system meets the minimum system requirements of Sentry

Steps to Reproduce

Deploy the self-hosted sentry to my machine.
Create 6 project.
Check the memory usage. I noticed the memory usage is about 16GB. It force me must use a 32GB machine to avoid memory crash.

Expected Result

How can I optimize the memory usage of these service? The minimun system requirement is 16GB. According to my current situation, 16GB is definitely not enough.

Actual Result

I hope get some way to optimize the memory usage.

16 GB physical RAM + some swap is totally enough. Sentry will always hover at that RAM usage, during high traffic or not. One thing that you might do is to switch Kafka with Redpanda, it works, but there are no official support for that, you'll need to figure things out on your own.

Regarding other containers, there are some issues on that. One of them is: #1763

One issue we ran into is that the relay service will ignore swap for the health check in some cases (filed as getsentry/relay#4611), which made it seem like it needed more RAM, and that swap wasn't enough.

@ChlorideCull the healthcheck on relay is indeed broken, it's being fixed and will rollout on the 24.4.0 release.
