Not sending errors to the webhook when the issue happens

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create project
2. Enable webhook
3. Test URL (working)
4. Force an error in my application to see if i'll receive the notification (not working)
5. I have even created the alert rule, which was not mentioned in the documentation according this issue Not sending to the webhook when the issue happens #23660 but did not help

Expected Result

Receive the error messages on rocket.chat

Hi @marzieh-kazemi, thanks for the detailed error report.

Firstly, you are right - you do need to enable the alert rule to make sure the webhook fires. I'll update the docs to reflect that.

With your setup, I was able to replicate the issue. In your alert rule configuration, if you add a trigger of "A new issue is created", does that fire your webhook correctly? That worked for me.

Thank you so much @manuzope for your quick reply. I have already tried with also adding that trigger before and i did test it again but still I get no alerts in the rocket.chat channel :(

I see, do you know if the problem is that Sentry is not sending the webhook or that Rocket.chat is not accepting the webhook? I imagine you could test that out by changing the webhook destination to https://webhook.site/ to see if Sentry is correctly sending the webhook.

Hello, we have debugged this a little more and could established that all the systems can actually talk to each other. What's not working is that an allert triggers sending something over the webhook. But the same alert sends mails, so the alert is being triggered.
Any Ideas how we could dig deeper into the system (manually triggering the webhook from "./docker-entrypoint.sh sentry shell" worked ^^.

@johannesreichard Interesting. I have a few followup questions:

1. Just to make sure - you changed the address that the webhook is aiming towards and it still did not fire, yes? The possibility I'm trying to eliminate is that rocket.chat is not accepting the format of the alert webhook.
2. Is this on Sentry SaaS (sentry.io) or an on premise installation?
3. Does it not work on any project or does it work for some and not for others? If it works for some, which language is the one for which it does not work?

1. Yes we even changed the address with another webhook and it still did not work. (As we don't get any alert, I can't check the format and compare but I even tried to get the whole json object and not formatting the massage like a debug mode but still not get any alert there but only those example events.)
2. We are using self hosted sentry (sentry.io) with version 21.4.1.
3. It does not work for any project right now.

We are using self hosted sentry (sentry.io) with version 21.4.1.

This is a bit of a conflicting piece of information. The hosted version on sentry.io has an ever-changing version, and definitely wouldn't be 21.4.1 as that's a version from April. Are you using a self-hosted Sentry instance by any chance?
