@gfazioli gfazioli released this 14 Oct 18:25

Nine looks, and a website. The cards can now wear the nine looks of FinderGit's Profile Card, and glancecard has a home: https://gfazioli.github.io/glancecard/, where you can switch between them.

The profile card in the Hyperspace look The profile card in the Upside Down look

Looks

  • theme takes midnight, aurora, daylight, upside-down, hyperspace, bridge, nebula, halloween and christmas, as well as dark, light and both. Ask for several at once, comma-separated: one theme writes <name>.svg, several write <name>-<theme>.svg.
  • Each look brings its palette, its lettering (serif, rounded, condensed capitals, a glowing name) and its decorations: fairy lights and spores, the streaks of a jump, console rails, a nebula, a moon with bats and pumpkins, snow and baubles. They work on both cards.
  • halloween and christmas are worn in their season only, from 1 October to 2 November and from 1 December to 6 January in the card's time-zone. The rest of the year they are Midnight, and they come back on their own.
- uses: gfazioli/glancecard@v0.2.0
  with:
    profile: your-login
    theme: both, halloween

Changed

  • dark and light are now Midnight and Daylight, so the default cards change colour slightly. Their file names do not, and your READMEs need nothing.

Website

Every look to switch between, the three steps, and the one-paste setup for Claude Code or Codex, with a copy button.

Your GitHub profile and repositories, at a glance. glancecard renders SVG cards for your READMEs and commits them from a GitHub Action in your own repository: no server, no third-party service, no dependencies.

A repository card for gfazioli/octoscope

Cards

  • Repository card: status, age and latest tag, description and topics, commits in the last 30 days with a 26-week sparkline, twelve stat tiles, a year of commits with streaks, the weekly rhythm (day × hour), languages and essentials, the latest commits and releases with their cadence, contributors. Sections can be left out.
  • Profile card: followers, stars, repositories, pull requests, issues, commits, the contribution calendar, the most starred repositories and their languages.
  • Dark and light: one file each, for a <picture> that follows the reader's GitHub theme.

Use it

- uses: actions/checkout@v7
- uses: gfazioli/glancecard@v0.1.0
  with:
    profile: your-login
    repos: your-login/your-repo

Preview from a terminal: npx github:gfazioli/glancecard repo owner/name. Inputs, the <picture> snippet and the FAQ are in the README.

Safe by default

  • Private repositories are refused unless allow-private: true: their card would publish their data.
  • A history longer than max-commits is stated on the card instead of undercounted.
  • Every request has a deadline: a stalled host fails one card instead of hanging the job.
  • On a pull request the cards are rendered, never committed.
