Package Ghostty Terminal in Official Fedora Repos and/or Flathub

Summary

I’m requesting that Ghostty terminal be made available in the official Fedora repositories and/or as a Flatpak on Flathub, so Fedora users can install it directly from the default Software Store or with a simple dnf install ghostty—without enabling COPR or using third-party repos.

Context

• I’m aware Ghostty is already available via COPR (dnf copr enable pgdev/ghostty) and Snap.
• However, COPR is not enabled by default and is not considered an official Fedora source.
• Snap is not integrated into the Fedora Software Store by default, and many Fedora users prefer Flatpak or native RPMs.
• There is ongoing Flatpak packaging work, but it’s not yet available in Flathub and has some technical blockers.

What I Want

• Official Fedora RPM Package: Ghostty should be available in the main Fedora repositories, so users can install it without enabling any extra repos or COPR.
• Flatpak/Flathub Option: Alternatively or additionally, provide Ghostty as a Flatpak on Flathub, so it appears in the Fedora Software Store out-of-the-box for all users.
• No Extra Steps: The goal is for Ghostty to be discoverable and installable with zero manual repo configuration—just like GNOME Terminal or Tilix.

Why This Matters

• Discoverability: Most users expect to find popular terminals in the Software Store.
• Security: Official repos and Flathub undergo more vetting than COPR.
• User Experience: Reduces friction and manual steps, especially for new Fedora users.

You're asking the wrong person, Ghostty doesn't maintain those packages. Ask Fedora instead.
