The first release of Frameless: screenshots, annotations and screen recordings for macOS, built light and native.
What's in it
- Capture a whole display, a dragged area or a single window, with the screen frozen the moment you start
- Annotate with rectangles, lines, arrows, freehand, highlight, pixelate, numbered steps and text
- Scroll through a long page and get one tall image (areas and windows)
- Pin a screenshot on screen, then move, zoom or fade it
- Record a display, an area or a window, with system sound and microphone
- Copy, save or pin from one bar; shortcuts for everything, changeable in Preferences
- Tells you when a newer version is out, by checking GitHub once a day (you can turn it off in Preferences)
Install
- Download Frameless.dmg below, open it and drag Frameless into Applications.
- Open Frameless. It isn't notarised, so the first time macOS says it can't check it: open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway.
- Allow Screen Recording when asked, and Microphone if you want your voice in recordings.
Requires macOS 15 or later.
