v0.4.0
Stable release
Version: 0.4.0
Commit: 2e39f68
Build date: 2026-10-12T20:14:20Z
CI run: https://github.com/gioeleminardi/CroccoSpectrum/actions/runs/38302810241
- Shorten the waveform scan button and menu action to Exact Waveform. Add
independent mouse-wheel waveform zoom and drag panning down to single samples,
with connected I/Q traces and sample markers. Waterfall time navigation resets
waveform zoom; Exact Waveform scans its current visible interval. - Synchronize waveform time bounds with the waterfall viewport through full views,
zoom, pan, and minimap navigation. Distribute the bounded waveform preview across
the visible interval, label sampled coverage, and keep hover from replacing it
with a local interval. Exact waveform scans the visible waterfall interval. - Separate waterfall wheel zoom: scroll to zoom only time, or Ctrl + scroll to
zoom only frequency around the pointer. - Rework Time selection into a compact Analysis interval section for exact frame
entry, averages, and sample exports. Remove the duplicate timeline
and zoom buttons; Use waterfall view applies the minimap's visible interval.
Move precise time seeking to View → Seek to time.

v0.3.1
Stable release
Version: 0.3.1
Commit: 84f4f83
Build date: 2026-10-09T17:41:54Z
CI run: https://github.com/gioeleminardi/CroccoSpectrum/actions/runs/37968010875
- Round frequency-axis labels in the spectrum and average plots according to
tick spacing, keeping panned views readable while preserving precision at
narrow zoom levels. - Include changelog notes for versions skipped since the latest published stable
release in stable and development GitHub release descriptions.
0.3.0 — 2026-10-09 — Waterfall navigation and faster analysis
- Parallelize independent FFT windows for exact minimaps, spectral averages,
exact overviews, and larger previews/waterfalls with a bounded worker count.
Preserve window-order reductions, cancellation, and progressive snapshots;
keep small jobs and memory-heavy FFTs serial when appropriate. - Show an animated status-bar spinner whenever background analysis, waterfall
refinement, minimap filling, or exports are queued or running. Pointer-driven
hover FFT updates do not trigger it. - Add Settings → Waterfall rows to choose automatic display resolution or
128–4096 rows, saved across launches and sessions and applied to detail and exact overviews.
Honor explicit densities at large FFT sizes by allowing enough FFT work for the selected rows. - Add a saved Display option to adapt waterfall colors on zoom or keep the
current automatic color limits fixed across zoom, pan, and minimap navigation. - Increase waterfall detail using physical viewport pixels and visible FFT bins,
with bounded asynchronous refinement and explicit sampling/aggregation labels. - Add a progressively populated whole-recording waterfall minimap with a movable
viewport box and independently resizable top/bottom handles. Waterfall pan and
zoom control the viewport independently of the analysis range; preserve frame
measurements and freeze across refinement, and export actual viewport metadata. - Add View → Dark theme to switch controls and dialogs between dark and light
mode independently of the desktop theme. Save the choice across launches;
analysis plots keep their existing colors without recomputing results. - Hide the Baseband waveform panel by default. Enable it from View → Baseband
waveform or run an Exact waveform analysis; saved workspace visibility is
preserved. - Add Help → Plot controls with spectrum, waterfall, and waveform gesture
instructions in a dialog that can stay open while working. Remove plot hover
tooltips and display waveform time-range labels to three decimal places. - Align the average spectrum plot with the waterfall and keep its label and
max-hold checkbox compact across window sizes and restored workspaces. - Fix maximized floating panels retaining the mouse grab after a dock drag,
keeping the rest of the application responsive. - Open the CroccoSpectrum website from update notifications, and defer browser
launch until the dialog is destroyed so Wayland can complete the request.
Show a copyable URL if the browser launch request fails. - Check for updates on every startup and announce an available version once per
app session, including versions announced on previous launches. Continue to
respect disabled automatic checks and GitHub retry limits.

v0.2.0
Stable release
Version: 0.2.0
Commit: f8fe621
Build date: 2026-10-09T13:10:20Z
CI run: https://github.com/gioeleminardi/CroccoSpectrum/actions/runs/37934867523
- Identify development builds with the planned release version, CI build number,
and source commit in the application, exports, packages, and build manifests.
Publish verifieddevelpushes as distinct GitHub prereleases and stable tags
as releases after all packages, sources, and checksums are ready. Offer stable
and development downloads separately on the website; development applications
recognize the corresponding final stable release as an update. - Add automatic stable-release checks and update notifications with a release
page link for manual installation. Help actions check on demand or disable
automatic checks; incomplete release uploads, offline failures, and rate
limits are handled without interrupting analysis. Bundle Qt Network's TLS
backend and OpenSSL runtime libraries in Linux packages. - Add File → Open recent for the ten most recently opened recordings and
sessions, with history saved across launches and a Clear recent files action.
Metadata recordings reopen through their original metadata file. - Automatically enable absolute-frequency display when opening or changing a
recording interpretation with a known center frequency. Rename the display
checkbox toAbsolute frequency. - Round spectrum crosshair frequency labels and cursor status readouts to the
nearest whole Hz. - Extend the spectrum's vertical frequency cursor through the waterfall to
correlate signals across both plots. Keep it aligned during zooming and
resizing, and clear it when the spectrum cursor disappears. - Add mouse-wheel zoom around the pointer and left-drag pan for both frequency
and time in the waterfall. Keep frequency navigation linked to the spectra
and time navigation within the current preview, preserving measurements,
click-to-freeze, and double-click seeking. Hold Ctrl when starting a drag to
pan only time without changing the frequency range. For a selected recording
slice, move the interval with its width fixed and update the Start/End fields
live. Move cached rows immediately and refresh newly exposed data in the
background while dragging, preserving frequency zoom and the active gesture.
Clamp the interval to the recording bounds; whole-recording views pan preview
rows instead. - Complete spectrum and waterfall measurements with a plain left-click after
Shift-clicking the start. Update plot hints and the keyboard shortcuts
cheatsheet to describe the gesture.
