glowrom for Windows 0.1.1 (alpha)

glowrom for Windows: first alpha. A media center for your own videos: browse your library, play it, and pick up where you left off.

Get it

• Installer (easiest): glowrom-windows-setup.exe. Installs just for you (no administrator prompt), adds a Start menu entry, removes cleanly.
• No-install version: glowrom-windows-portable.zip. Unzip anywhere, double-click glowrom.exe. Everything stays in its own folder; delete the folder to remove it.

"Windows protected your PC"

Windows shows this for programs from small developers that haven't paid for a signing certificate yet. Click More info, then Run anyway. glowrom plays your videos with mpv (included) and does nothing hidden. Checksums are in SHA256SUMS-windows.txt if you want to check the download.

What it does today

• Plays your videos inside its own window, or full screen (press F; Esc comes back).
• Remembers where you stopped, marks what you've watched, and plays the next episode when one ends.
• Two ways to use a PC: as your media center (videos on this PC), or as a remote for a glowrom server on your network (Linux or Windows).
• Neon on-screen messages and idle screen; lives in the tray when you close the window.
• Makes movies and tv folders for you.

Not yet (coming)

Using your phone on the home network, skipping intros and credits, TV Mode and shuffle, show descriptions, playing on a second screen/TV window. This is an early alpha: things will be rough, and your feedback is the point.

If something goes wrong

Open the tray icon's menu (by the clock) and choose Open the log folder, then send the file glowrom.log. It never contains passwords or keys.

glowrom v0.1.0-beta (Linux)

The first public beta of glowrom, for Linux.

Download the package for your machine below (x86-64 for most computers, arm64 for Raspberry Pi and similar), then follow INSTALL-linux.md. Check your download against SHA256SUMS.

This is a beta and the Linux build is for people comfortable with a terminal. A Windows app is on the way.

What is in it: skip intros and credits automatically, resume and watched tracking, TMDB descriptions, a tidy naming convention with preview and undo, TV Mode and shuffle, neon on-screen messages and title cards, an idle screen, Glowrom Pink subtitles, a phone remote, and a file damage check.

Found a problem? Run tvui report and attach the file to a new issue.
