1Helm 0.0.17 delivers the file-backed Cowork workspace, a traditional Files
browser, Quick Note, consistent Markdown, stable background refresh behavior,
and mobile viewport improvements without changing the resident-agent harness.

Acceptance ledger

1. Passive updates preserve the user's place: background messages,
   polling, synchronization, route repaints, and shell updates preserve the
   focused input, cursor/selection, draft, scroll positions, expanded details,
   active workspace mode/file, and open Files or Cowork surface.
2. Call Skipper is removed: the redundant button is gone and @Skipper
   remains the direct escalation path.
3. Markdown is consistent: global/channel Threads, Board, summaries,
   agent/status messages, Cowork chat, Memory, Texts, and Activity share the
   Markdown renderer, including spaced bold labels such as ** Goal **.
4. Texts read naturally: Photon history uses the concise “Text with
   Skipper” presentation instead of repeating a robotic phone-number source
   prefix.
5. Listening and work states are visible but quiet: dictation has a subtle
   listening waveform and active residents use a compact animated orb inspired
   by the requested understated motion language without covering content.
6. Folders and files are visually distinct: folders have recognizable
   folder icons, known files receive type-aware icons, unknown files receive a
   document fallback, and selection is communicated by more than color.
7. Files is now a conventional browser: the two-pane layout provides a
   folder rail, breadcrumbs, bounded content grid, nested navigation, search,
   sort, metadata, create/upload/open/rename/move/duplicate/delete/download,
   and direct routing of supported assets into Cowork.
8. Mobile uses the visible screen: layouts track the visual viewport and
   safe areas, scrolling away releases the composer so the keyboard can
   dismiss, Settings uses a compact horizontal rail, and Terminal/panels no
   longer size beneath browser chrome or the keyboard.
9. The top-bar note action is Quick Note: it captures optional-title or
   collision-safe untitled Markdown directly in /workspace/notes, preserves
   the underlying channel/tab/thread/scroll context, retains a collapsed draft
   during the session, supports dictation, Escape-to-save, Command/Control+Enter
   save, and explicit Save/Discard.
10. Notes is now the unified Cowork workspace: Notes, Whiteboard, Code,
    Docs, and Presentations edit the existing /workspace/notes,
    /workspace/whiteboards, /workspace/code, /workspace/docs, and
    /workspace/presentations trees through one consistent three-column
    desktop layout with nested folders and retained per-mode state.
11. Cowork remains a file viewer/editor, not a second agent system:
    Markdown/doc/code editors and lightweight single-file .whiteboard.json
    and .slides.json editors operate directly on channel files; unsupported
    binary types say so plainly, and resident prompting adds only one concise
    supported-format preference.
12. Cowork chat is an ordinary channel thread: the collapsible avatar panel
    keeps the file visible, starts a normal resident session, appends the open
    /workspace/... path only to its first message, and exposes the same
    session in the channel Chat view.

Live multi-human cursors and automatic co-viewer participation are not claimed
in this release; that requirement was conditional and the shipped work keeps
the existing collaboration/thread model intact.

• Exact merged source: fac18f926f117131992a71ebb4c1f1b9cd4fb1db
  from PRs #20 and #21; tag v0.0.17 points to that commit. The clean source
  archive matched SHA-256
  d6042c0d44b0002413062b07e5384a2d2aedc856c6cbdcbf2b89453ffe02c8fa
  on Linux and the Mac Studio APFS build volume.

• GitHub Actions verify, all three CodeQL analyses, and the differential
  CodeQL gate passed on the release PRs. verify and every CodeQL analysis
  also passed on the exact merged/tagged commit.

• Linux release-candidate validation passed typecheck/build, 117/117
  native-world assertions, 104/106 broader contracts with two declared
  environment-only Chrome skips, onboarding 20/20, brief browser 38/38,
  feedback browser 1/1, Cowork browser 1/1, and production browser 18/18.
  The exact follow-up changed only the platform-neutral browser click seam and
  passed the Cowork browser test on both Linux and Apple Silicon.

• Clean Apple Silicon APFS validation from the exact final source passed
  typecheck/build, 117/117 native-world assertions, 104/106 broader contracts
  with the same two declared environment-only skips, Cowork browser 1/1, and
  deterministic onboarding 20/20.

• The app, updater ZIP's extracted app, DMG, and mounted DMG app passed strict
  nested Developer ID signature validation, stapler ticket validation, and
  Gatekeeper. Apple accepted app notarization submission
  a8106cd8-f4ad-407b-a133-36bb0cbe3f0c and DMG submission
  9682d972-7f8e-45f4-b77b-3caa0013a043.

• The app identifies as com.gitcommit90.1helm, version 0.0.17; its main
  executable and packaged node-pty native module/helper are arm64.

• The exact merged build is live at https://demo.1helm.com; loopback and
  public setup-health checks return the retained configured workspace.

• Fresh public downloads of both assets matched the recorded hashes. The
  public DMG was installed on the retained Mac Studio over 0.0.16 after its own
  signature, ticket, and Gatekeeper checks. Installed 0.0.17 launched as a
  native ARM64 process, retained bundle ID com.gitcommit90.1helm, returned
  the existing configured workspace from its discovered ephemeral loopback
  server, and preserved Application Support inode 34829724.
