What's new in v1.1.28

Highlights

  • Added a "From your organization" tab to Customize that shows the plugins your organization provides when your enterprise manages a plugin marketplace.
  • Custom agents can now suggest next steps after their final response, letting you switch to another agent with a pre-filled, editable prompt you can review before sending.
  • Download files and folders from the Files panel to your local machine.
  • Auto mode now explains why it selected a given model, shown alongside the model name in the conversation.
  • Fixed uploading large local images and videos as pull request or issue attachments, which could previously fail.

Added

  • Added a "From your organization" tab to Customize that shows the plugins your organization provides when your enterprise manages a plugin marketplace.
  • Auto mode now explains why it selected a given model, shown alongside the model name in the conversation.
  • Custom agents can now suggest next steps after their final response, letting you switch to another agent with a pre-filled, editable prompt you can review before sending.
  • Download files and folders from the Files panel to your local machine.
  • You can now drag the Settings dialog by its title bar to reposition it while it stays within the window

Changed

  • Completed Agents are no longer archived automatically after their pull request merges or closes; you can still archive them manually.
  • Debug log archive notifications now let you copy the full file path and show the archive in your file manager, and they stay visible until you dismiss them.
  • Dropped images in pull request descriptions and comments now land at the drop position and show a live preview while uploading instead of a loading placeholder.
  • Grouped tool calls now stay collapsed while they run, and active tool-call lists grow with the conversation instead of scrolling in a nested area.
  • Hid the "Fork session from response" action and /fork slash command for sessions running on a WSL host, since forking was never available there.
  • Image previews now animate open from the clicked thumbnail and fade out smoothly when dismissed, instead of appearing and disappearing instantly.
  • Library cards now show a small image or video thumbnail beside the filename instead of a generic file icon.
  • Library thumbnail grid view no longer shows a separate date row, matching the cleaner look of Recent file cards.
  • Moved project references and sessions to the top of the prompt composer's add menu, placed file and folder pickers at the bottom, and made the menu open above the composer when space allows.
  • Reordering sessions in the sidebar now uses one fluid gap preview for moves within and between sections.
  • Session composers now stay softly focused without a caret or focus outline at rest, then focus visibly when you start typing or pasting.
  • Session status labels are now consistent and shorter across hover cards, the sidebar, and screen-reader announcements: Working, Done, Idle, Needs input, and Loading.
  • Sessions opened on someone else's pull request now switch from review controls to authoring controls as soon as you edit files locally or add commits.
  • Simplified the description of the WebGL rendering setting for the terminal.
  • Simplified the keyboard hint shown on the selected prompt history result to a single Return icon.
  • The manual branch refresh button in the branch picker now only appears for repositories that need it, such as shallow or partial clones.
  • The usage popover's context breakdown now starts expanded when opened, instead of requiring an extra click to reveal it.
  • The working-agents count in multi-agent conversations is now a menu you can open to jump to a specific agent, and progress text stays visible instead of disappearing while an agent is between steps.

Fixed

  • Changing reasoning effort now applies right away instead of getting stuck pending while a session is still working.
  • Desktop notifications now show readable text instead of raw markup when an agent finishes, needs input, or has a plan ready.
  • Fixed a black flash when opening or reloading the app in light mode; windows now show the correct theme background from the first frame
  • Fixed a startup issue where the bundled Git executable could be bypassed in favor of the system Git, and improved the health check to clearly surface Git version errors, including guidance when an Xcode license needs to be accepted.
  • Fixed a WSL session reconnecting showing a red failure alert instead of a quiet reconnecting notice.
  • Fixed agent thread receipts and references showing a generic name instead of the saved agent name after restarting the app.
  • Fixed an issue where deleting a large archived worktree could block starting new sessions for minutes.
  • Fixed Azure DevOps build policy checks showing the generic label "Build" instead of the pipeline's name when the pipeline has not yet run.
  • Fixed browser tabs opened in a chat's right panel so links that open a new tab now open one, and pages that close themselves now close their tab.
  • Fixed child sessions losing the parent's reasoning effort and context window settings when created with the same model
  • Fixed cloud session names not updating correctly, which could cause a stale or missing title to reappear after reconnecting.
  • Fixed conversation history sometimes appearing blank until scrolling when restoring a long conversation.
  • Fixed Copilot's avatar rendering larger than other assignees in the assignee picker.
  • Fixed debug log gist sharing failing to return the gist URL after the gist was already created successfully.
  • Fixed dictated prompt text being lost when switching away from a new chat session and back while using voice dictation
  • Fixed inline code in chat messages so its highlighted background no longer touches adjacent lines when the code wraps.
  • Fixed Settings > Accounts showing the active project's usage instead of the default account's own usage when the two differed.
  • Fixed the chat transcript jumping down after submitting a multiline prompt.
  • Fixed the context window size resetting to the default when switching back to a model after selecting a different one.
  • Fixed the Customize plugins list saying "No plugins available from this marketplace" when every plugin in the marketplace is already installed. It now says all plugins are installed.
  • Fixed the loading timer in inline quick chat showing the wrong background color instead of matching its chat surface.
  • Fixed the MCP server list in Customize failing to load when the user's MCP configuration file had a UTF-8 byte-order mark or JSON comments/trailing commas.
  • Fixed the Model & reasoning and AI usage keyboard shortcuts so they work reliably on Windows, using Ctrl+Shift+E and Ctrl+Shift+U.
  • Fixed the Overview breadcrumb sometimes collapsing to a sliver after switching tabs or navigating while its panel was hidden.
  • Fixed the repository trust prompt appearing unnecessarily for already-trusted worktrees, and fixed it getting stuck after content changes were rejected.
  • Fixed the sidebar Recovery popover continuing to show a stale pending-decision error and disabled Resume button after an agent had returned to normal operation.
  • Fixed the total line count shown when expanding a committed file's full diff being undercounted when the file ends with trailing blank lines.
  • Fixed the Windows taskbar badge sometimes failing to clear after an automation run finished.
  • Fixed uploading large local images and videos as pull request or issue attachments, which could previously fail.
  • Improved accessibility of the Sessions screen, including clearer screen reader announcements for search results and filters, and more reliable keyboard focus when expanding rows or closing Settings.
  • Improved screen reader announcements for slash command suggestions in the message composer
  • Issue sessions that are slow to start no longer lose your prompt, and setup failures now appear in the conversation with Stop and Retry instead of an endless spinner.
  • Opening a direct link to a sub-agent (from history, a notification, or a deep link) now opens it as a tab inside its coordinator agent's panel instead of as a separate standalone session.
  • Projects no longer keep showing "GitHub account was removed" after their original account is already signed in; the account is now reconnected automatically on startup.
  • Skill loading error messages no longer appear while browsing unrelated extension types, such as connectors.
  • The Invertocat on the home screen no longer flickers or reloads while you resize the window

Removed

  • Removed the standalone Changes tab from the Agent conversation view. Diffs for child sessions are still viewable from Overview, and Changes remains available in ordinary coding workspaces.
