Current v8.4.0 beeing very stable, I propose that we merge @Lucassifoni's PRs related to the macOS and Linux binaries first.
I can take care of reviewing and merging those PRs to free up some time for @gr5 while he prepares for Stellafane, since these changes do not impact the application source code itself.
After that, we could create a v8.4.1 release as a stable baseline before moving on to the remaining fixes and improvements.
Proposed changes for v8.4.1
- Fix profile plot temporarily not updating after subtracting or averaging wavefronts
- Fix build issue with Clang compiler
- Fix outline helper dialog not closing when the application exits
- Fix minor UI issue on the 16 diameters profile plot
- Build pipeline now publishes a .dmg package for macOS users
- Build pipeline now publishes an .AppImage package for Linux users
I can also handle the release process. Since the code changes are very limited, I believe the risk for the Windows release is quite low.
Of course, I would still perform a basic validation of the binaries, although probably not as extensive as George's usual testing process.
What do you think?

Next steps
Once v8.4.1 is out, we can focus on the remaining UI fixes and improvements going to v8.5.0 release.
