v2.4.0 Release Notes
Released on Monday, August 31, 2026. This release ships a release-manifest sync rework across every package, introduces on-brand, themed dropdowns for AI provider selection, and adds a daily sync of free models from the OpenRouter provider — together delivering a significantly more intuitive onboarding experience for new users.
Features
- Every manifest now carries a version field on release, not just one. Previously only a single manifest was updated when a release shipped, leaving the others out of step. The release flow now syncs a version field across every manifest consistently, so package metadata stays coherent at every version cut. (#51)
- On-brand dropdowns for AI Providers, with OpenRouter flagged as free. The AI provider selector now uses themed, on-brand dropdowns rather than the previous generic styling, matching the rest of the product's visual language. OpenRouter is explicitly flagged as free within the selector, so its pricing posture is clear at the point of choice. (#54)
- Daily sync of free models for the OpenRouter provider. OpenRouter's catalog of free models is now refreshed on a daily cadence, so the provider selector always reflects the current set of models that can be used at no cost.
- More intuitive onboarding for users without coding experience or paid-model budgets. A new user with no programming background — and without the budget or tokens for a paid model — can now be guided step by step to create an OpenRouter account, pick a free model from the refreshed catalog, and start using the platform right away.
