What's new

• Wake on LAN. Open a computer that's asleep and the phone wakes it. If it doesn't answer within 2 seconds, the phone sends a Wake-on-LAN packet, and a few more while it wakes; the status says Waking… and the keyboard connects once the computer is up. The main screen shows Asleep or off · opening it wakes it for a computer that can be woken. Turn it on on the computer first: Settings → Wake on LAN in the Omarchy bar widget 1.4.0, or omakeyd wake-on-lan on. It works from the same Wi-Fi, also with a VPN like Tailscale on. Settings on the phone can turn it off.
• Wi-Fi only, for now. Bluetooth is off: no Bluetooth keyboard mode and no Bluetooth fallback, and no Nearby devices permission prompt.

Wake on LAN needs the Omarchy plugin 1.4.0. Everything else works with the plugin 1.2.0 or newer (or 1.1.0, without the shared clipboard).

What's new

• Your own key row. In portrait mode, the keys above your phone's keyboard are now two rows. The upper row has ten slots for the keys you choose and stays put; the lower row swipes through digits, F-keys, navigation and system keys as before. Tap the pencil at the upper row's end and the keys tremble: drag a key up into a slot (or tap it), drag along the row to move or swap, tap or drag off to clear. Tap the tick when done. Outside editing, every key taps, repeats and holds modifiers as before.
• Bluetooth icon. The status pill, the computer picker, the main screen and Settings show the Bluetooth sign when the phone types over Bluetooth: as a Bluetooth keyboard, or on omakeyd's Bluetooth fallback.

Works with the Omarchy plugin 1.2.0 or newer (or 1.1.0, without the shared clipboard).

• Pointer speed on top. The speed slider and its preset chip now sit along the top of the touchpad, in landscape and in portrait mode. The bottom edge is left to the grab bar: swipe up from it, or from a side button, to put the touchpad away.

What's new

• Copy and Paste. Portrait mode has Copy and Paste icons in its top bar, and layouts can have them as keys (KEY_COPY, KEY_PASTE). Omakey Pro has both inside its U-shaped Enter.
  • Copy copies what's selected on the computer and puts it on the phone's clipboard too.
  • Paste pastes on the computer, bringing the phone's clipboard along when it has something newer than what the two last swapped. Copy on the phone, paste on the desktop, and the other way round.
  • Text up to 64 KB. Passwords marked sensitive stay marked on the other side. The app keeps only a hash of the last swapped text, never the text.
  • Without the clipboard (Bluetooth keyboard mode, an older omakeyd, a Steam Deck in Game Mode) they press Ctrl+Insert and Shift+Insert, which copy and paste in terminals too.
• A cleaner top bar: icons only.
• Steam Deck with SteamOS is a new computer to type on, no Omarchy needed: see the plugin release below.

What's new

• Portrait mode. Pick Portrait under Layout and hold the phone upright: the touchpad on top and your own Android keyboard below (Gboard, SwiftKey, Samsung Keyboard, any). Suggestions, autocorrect and swipe typing reach the computer as real key presses: every change the keyboard makes to its text goes out as arrows, backspaces and characters.
• English and Ukrainian from the phone's keyboard. Each character goes with the layout that types it. On Omarchy, omakeyd 1.1.0 switches only Omakey's own keyboard device, so the desktop's own keyboard keeps its layout.
• A key strip for what phone keyboards lack, swiped sideways: digits, F1–F12, Esc, Tab, Home/End, PgUp/PgDn, arrows, then Super, Ctrl, Alt, Shift, Print Screen and media keys. Modifiers hold, or tap to keep them down for the next key, so Super + Space and Ctrl + C work with any keyboard. The portrait touchpad has Left, Right, Ctrl and Shift on both sides.
• Landscape touchpad as a sheet that follows your finger: swipe the header (now with a grip), swipe down quickly on a typing key, or swipe it back up from the side buttons or the bottom grab bar.
• Layouts page with live previews instead of the dialog. Omakey Pro is the default for new installs.
• Settings: default layout, nine themes plus one that follows your Omarchy theme (sent by omakeyd 1.1.0), linked computers with Unlink, the typed-text strip, and MacBook-style haptics.
• Typed-text strip: what you typed runs across the top, shortcuts included.
• Paired computers show whether they are online. Every screen is fullscreen.

What's in it

• A real keyboard for Omarchy. Pair with the bar widget's QR code; every touch becomes a key press on a kernel virtual keyboard made by omakeyd. SUPER + SPACE, Esc, F1–F12, media keys, the lock screen, your desktop's layout.
• Fires on touch-down, multi-touch. Every finger holds its own key, so chords work. Fn layer with printed legends, sticky keys (tap to latch, twice to lock), Caps Lock light from the computer.
• Touchpad. Pull it down over the keys: move, tap, hold for right-click, two-finger scroll, mirrored click columns (Left, Right, Ctrl + Left, Shift + Left), per-computer pointer speed presets.
• Fast and safe on Wi-Fi. UDP with full held-key state in every packet, a low-latency Wi-Fi lock, DSCP EF. AES-256-GCM with fresh HKDF session keys; pairing keys are encrypted with an Android Keystore key.
• Bluetooth, two ways. Automatic RFCOMM fallback to omakeyd when Wi-Fi doesn't answer, and a standalone Bluetooth HID keyboard + mouse mode for any computer, tablet or TV.
• 10 layouts (Classic QWERTY, Omakey Pro, Colemak, Dvorak, Corne, Lily58, Ferris Sweep, ErgoDox, Alice, Kinesis Advantage), plus your own from Omakey Layout Studio, imported from a file, a link or the share sheet.

Upgrading from a 0.9.x test build: those were signed with a development key. Uninstall the old app once, install 1.0.0, and pair again.
