PTZ Controls v0.19.0-rc2 is a substantial reliability and feature update, with the headline change being much more robust ONVIF camera support. It also adds a per-camera connection indicator, hotkeys for relative preset recall, a collapsible dock splitter, and more crash-resistant config saving, alongside a large internal refactor that improves performance and lays groundwork for future work; fixes also cover ignored hotkey actions, a threading bug, and broken builds on Ubuntu and the latest macOS

What's new

  • Clearer connection status at a glance. Each camera in the device list now shows a status indicator so you can immediately see which ones are connected.
  • ONVIF cameras are now more reliable to work with. The plugin keeps a live connection status for each camera and automatically reconnects if it drops, instead of silently going stale.
  • New camera controls for ONVIF. You can now adjust focus and white balance, pick which media profile a camera uses, and set a custom speed multiplier for cameras whose pan/tilt/zoom speed doesn't match the ONVIF spec. Right-click the Home button to save the current position as its new "home".
  • Preset recall hotkeys. You can now bind hotkeys to step through and recall presets relative to whichever one is currently selected.
  • A visible collapsible splitter in the dock, so you can hide/show the preview pane, with the collapsed state now remembered between sessions.

Fixes

  • Camera actions (hotkey-triggered PTZ moves) no longer get silently ignored in some cases.
  • Fixed several ONVIF compatibility issues that could cause cameras to fail to connect, drop connection, or lose their presets — including timestamp sync problems, malformed requests to some camera firmwares, and stale addresses being cached.
  • Configuration is now saved more robustly (via OBS's own save hook) so changes aren't lost if OBS closes unexpectedly.
  • Fixed a crash-adjacent reference-counting bug and a threading issue that could cause UI updates to happen off the main thread.
  • Fixed builds on Ubuntu and the latest macOS.

Under the hood

A large portion of this release is internal cleanup and refactoring of how device configuration and state are stored — this shouldn't be user-visible, but it improves performance (the device list is faster with many cameras) and sets up the codebase for future features.
