ci: test on Node 24 and 26, add Node version badge#159

Expand the Core Tests matrix from [22, 23] to [22, 24, 26]: Node 23 is EOL, 24 is Active LTS, and 26 is the current line. Keep the 22.13.0 engines floor covered. Move the coverage/Codecov gate off the removed Node 23 to Node 24. Update README: add a Node version badge and refresh the Multi-Node compatibility row to Node 22, 24, 26.
