Why does 3006.102.4_1-gnuton1 only support one device type?

I'm not a highly technical user, but I've been using Gnuton since I got my XT8's a couple years ago. I try to stay current with the stable build versions.

I'm currently on 3004.388.8_4-gnuton1. I see that there is now a 3006.102.4_1-gnuton1, but is only available for [GT-BE98].

What will the next version for the XT8 be? I see there is a beta [3004.388.9_2-gnuton0_beta3]. is that the one I will be waiting for a stable build of? Will 3006.102.4_1-gnuton1 (or any 3006) also eventually support the XT8?

Is there someplace that explains the version and device support strategy?

Please flash the beta3 since it s a release candidate. 3006 is only for BE routers. Thanks
