Blip Cloud, in beta. Sign in from Settings → Cloud with Google or with an emailed code,
grant each emulator its saves folder once, and your saves follow you between handhelds: a newer
save comes down before a game starts (asked about when one is already here), the session's save
goes up when the game closes, and every save a download replaces is kept first in
Download/Blip/Save backups. "Sync now" sweeps the whole library, the game page's Saves tab lists
every version with restore and settles a conflict between two saves, and a save that did not
reach the cloud lights a glyph in the shelf header. RetroArch, melonDS, SeedlessDS, Mupen64Plus,
PPSSPP, Dolphin, Azahar, the yuzu family and Vita3K. Free, 100 MB; the account can be deleted
from the app or from cloud.goblip.co. "Sync over" keeps it to Wi‑Fi only if you want, and the
page says when the cloud is full or the hourly upload limit is spent (the sweep resumes on its
own). A launch never waits on the cloud in silence: a save check that outlasts the opening says
what it is doing, with a Skip, and one that fails starts the game anyway. -
A medal on each ROM RetroAchievements supports. A game's set is matched by its dump's hash
against the site's own index first and by exact title second, and the ROM card and the launch
chooser wear a medal on the copy the site lists as compatible, struck through on one it does not. -
Steam games from DroidDeck's pinned shortcuts, with Steam's own poster, hero and logo by
appid; a Windows game gets a poster when no box art is found, and folders named after PC
launchers and stores are recognized as Windows. -
PS Vita games kept as a
.vpk, a zipped dump or a PSN set launch in Vita3K, and an unpacked
dump is found by itssce_sysmarker up to three folders down. -
The hero backdrop can be framed from the cover picker.
-
The game editor in three tabs — Info, Launch and Library. A game's third-party ids can be
corrected by hand, and each one links to the game's page on its service; a game can be shelved
under a sort title of its own; Discard is marked as the destructive step it is. -
Themes own the shade and the words over game art. A theme file now shapes the scrims over
the backdrop and under a cover's achievements, saturates the glass behind panels, sets how far
the backdrop blurs, and inks the titles that stand on game art. The shipped themes use it: the
light theme's white is thinner over art, the dark one's scrims fade off the art instead of
veiling it, and Deck and 16 bit have a look of their own on it. -
RetroAchievements is reached by hash on every console the site lists, eight new listings per
sync. -
A disc's cue sheet launches, and TOSEC's numbered discs group as one game.
-
An Android game whose app is archived or disabled stays on the shelf for now instead of being
dropped. -
"My themes" in the theme gallery. The themes you made on themes.goblip.co, private ones
too, come to a third tab beside Installed and Gallery, signed in with your Blip account.
Signing in for them leaves Blip Cloud off on the device: the Cloud page shows the account with a
"Turn on Blip Cloud" row, and sync starts only when you ask for it there. -
A theme file can set the gap between the shelf's title and its carousel, seat the first cover
like the rest, and centre the title on the focused cover.
Changed
-
Opening a game is the cover's own puff over the page, instead of the window sliding away.
-
While Blip is the home app, the system's Back at the shelf's root does nothing.
-
The carousel sits against its title, a cover's gap away.
-
The Manual, Saves and Achievements tabs pitch a missing account on the same card, and RomM wears
the same beta badge and notice as Cloud. -
A game running in its own emulator can carry its own launch command.
-
Arcade BIOS sets and desktop junk files stay off the shelf; trademark marks are dropped from a
clean title so a store export like Tetris® Effect is found; libretro box art is found by the
ROM's own name, and an identified game's art is searched within its platform. -
A fresh Home with nothing played yet shows six games from across your systems rather than every
game of the first one. -
A web page opens on the main display, never on the lower panel.
-
The companion's title and notes take the theme's type, and the lower panel keeps clear of its
display's navigation bar. -
The online dot breathes, and the ROM name holds still with motion off.
-
The save conflict card has room at its foot, and the Cloud settings button is dropped from
under the saves. -
The Home no longer rereads the library on every change, and RetroAchievements play dates are
imported in one write. -
"Server games" on the RomM page chooses which of a paired server's games the shelf shows
before they are downloaded: all of them, only while the server is online, or only the ones
already downloaded. It replaces the "Hide offline games" switch, and changing it costs no
rescan. -
The gallery's tabs read Installed, Gallery and My themes, and importing a theme file is the
legend's one action on either panel.
Fixed
-
A launch whose command needs a value the game does not have fails with a reason instead of
starting the app on nothing. -
A B pressed while a page fades in leaves it at once, and the lower panel goes back to the shelf.
-
A folder picked from Settings is kept when the lower panel is reborn behind the picker.
-
RetroAchievements' hash index is listed only from the sync, never from a focused cover.
-
Serials and title ids survive a rescan, and a game launched by id reads the stored serial
instead of opening the file. -
A game renamed in Blip and protected from scans no longer comes back as a second copy, without
its cover, under the file's name after a rescan: Blip now recognises a game by its ROM files
before its title. A duplicate left by an earlier scan is cleaned up by the next one. -
A play session is no longer counted twice when Blip and the usage watcher both see the game end.
-
Blip no longer crashes on every start when a connected RetroAchievements account's history holds
a game with no last played date. -
Cloud saves and shortcuts work on Android 12 again.
-
A corrupt settings file starts over instead of crashing on every start.
-
Scanning: a platform asked for while another is scanning is scanned after it; a new platform
keeps scanning after leaving the wizard; a cancelled rescan stops instead of asking for an
artwork sweep; an import already creating platforms finishes, and a server is reviewed against
the full catalog; the games of an unreadable folder the import made are kept; one folder
reached under two grants is one folder, so its ROMs are not doubled. -
Downloads: a cancelled ROM download stops at once and for real, one that arrived short is never
shelved, and a downloaded ROM's serial and hash are read once it lands. -
Blip Cloud: the newer save coming down after "Use it" is shown, with a skip; the save table
starts over when another account signs in; a RetroArch core never takes another core's save
folder; a save's backups are pruned only among its own; a failed write's scratch files stay out
of what goes up; a disk error fails the sync instead of crashing it. -
The lower panel's manual is the running game's, not the last game's; a Back on the lower panel
is answered once however many games were played; a field on the lower panel closes when its
form is sent from the upper screen. -
The home editor and the command editor close without backing out of the screen, and the game
page's cards close with the system Back before the page does. -
A held D-pad on the Platforms screen carries the platform row every step and never its
neighbour, and unsaved platform edits survive the screen being recreated. -
The game page asks the server once per check, and the settings fields keep the caret after each
typed character.
