Agentbits v0.2.0

Teams that work in parallel: the lead talks to its team, duplicated developers share the work without overwriting each other, and you can share whole teams with friends. Plus Gemini and local models, old Office files and OCR, web reading, semantic memory and safety limits.

What's new

Teamwork

• The lead talks to the team. Only the lead talks to members: it hands out work, sees what they finished and leaves them notes on their tasks.
• Parallel developers. Duplicate an agent into twins (Organization → Agents → Duplicate). The lead splits work between them, an idle twin takes over a busy twin's queued task, and tasks can wait for each other ("waits for TA-3"). Everyone sees who is working on which files.
• Each task in its own git working copy (project setting, off by default): tasks work on their own branch and are merged into the project folder when approved; a conflict goes back to the agent.
• Race mode (Settings → General, off by default): a task also goes to a member on another provider or model; the lead compares both attempts and keeps the better one. Costs about twice as much.
• Share teams and agents. Export a unit (with everything under it) or an agent as a .agentbits file; import one from a file or a GitHub link with a full preview. Keys, connection settings, tasks and chat are never included; imported agents always start with "Ask for approval" on.

Providers and tools

• Gemini and local models: the OpenAI provider can use an OpenAI-compatible endpoint — Google Gemini, Ollama, LM Studio or your own address (local servers need no key).
• Codex CLI agents now get connection, file and app tools too.
• Web reading: agents with the web permission can read public pages as text (local network addresses are blocked).
• Custom reports you describe in your own words; skills from private GitHub repositories; MCP resources and prompts.

Files and memory

• Old Office and RTF: .doc, .xls, .ppt and .rtf are read now.
• OCR: scanned PDFs and images are read offline (English and Turkish).
• Semantic memory (Settings → Memory, off by default): memories are also found by meaning, through your provider's embeddings — fully local with Ollama or LM Studio.

Safety

• Per-run time, token and cost limits (Settings → Security and limits), a reviewed list of environment variables passed to CLI agents, secrets masked in transcripts, audit log retention, stricter checks on every call between the window and the app.

Also

• Turkish UI: tab names and Kanban columns are Turkish too (Sohbet, Ofis, Görevler, Raporlar, Kararlar, Tarayıcı; Yapılacak → Devam eden → İncelemede → Bitti).
• Demo mode simulates the kind of work: research, writing, data and code tasks each look like what you asked for.
• The release holds only the installers and their checksums.

Windows is the main target. The macOS packages have not been tested on a real Mac yet.

• Node.js is not needed to run the app. Claude Code CLI and Codex CLI are not bundled: install and sign in separately (claude auth login, codex login).
• The installers are not code-signed yet. Windows SmartScreen will warn you: More info → Run anyway.
• Upgrading: there is no auto-update. Close Agentbits and run the new installer over the old one; your data in %APPDATA%\Agentbits is kept and upgraded on first start. If you might go back to 0.1.0, make a backup first (Settings → Data management).

Verify the download

SHA-256 checksums are in SHA256SUMS-windows.txt and SHA256SUMS-macos.txt. A checksum only shows the file was not corrupted; it is not a signature.
