Shader Skills v2.0.0 — GLSL & Shadertoy for AI coding agents
Shader Skills helps AI coding agents create, debug and refine procedural GLSL / Shadertoy shaders using a tested graphics library and a repeatable visual workflow.
This is the first tagged GitHub release, matching the existing 2.0.0 plugin and Gemini extension versions. It packages the current library and improvements already on main.
Included
- 186 GLSL functions across 20 modules: signed distance functions, raymarching, noise, domain warping, procedural architecture, water optics, PBR shading, color, tonemapping, volumes and atmosphere.
- 11 complete shader examples: still life, terrain, clouds, 2D graphics, patterns, ocean, noise studies, a terrain map, a procedural city, an alpine valley and coastal water.
- Search, bundle and check: Python tools that inline the required dependencies into a single Shadertoy-ready shader and catch common WebGL mistakes.
- Agent integrations: Claude Code plugin installation, the skills CLI, Gemini CLI extension metadata and manual adapters for other tools.
- Video-to-shader workflow: a reference-driven prompt for scene analysis, procedural reconstruction and visual acceptance checks.
- Getting started and contribution docs: a quick install, example commands, a changelog, and bug/feature issue forms.

Validation and scope
The release commit's CI checks passed: static lint, reference/index/gallery consistency, glslang compilation, bundler regressions, WebGL2 compilation, GPU property tests and example renders.
Shaders target Shadertoy / WebGL2 / GLSL ES 3.00. A generated scene still needs visual review and performance measurements on its target device. HLSL/Unity ShaderLab and a complete fluid simulation are outside the skill's scope.
