@gonzalolarralde gonzalolarralde released this 14 Oct 07:44

0.162.1 — 2026-10-14

  • Schema provenance: the experimental export from official @openai/codex@0.162.1
    matches all 447 files byte-for-byte against clean public tag rust-v0.162.1,
    peeled commit 092d3acd6bec3e3a14bdc7e7a2810ab628ab759d.
  • Contract: no public contract change from 0.162.0; no schema files or wire
    definitions changed. Upstream fixes multiline asynchronous-question rendering
    and background-server compatibility checks for explicit CLI feature overrides.
  • Swift compatibility: updates current compatibility metadata while retaining
    deprecated APIs and lossless unknown-error handling. No generator repair needed.
  • Verification: generation was idempotent; source-bundle verification, two Python
    normalization tests, swift build --target AppServerClient, all 26 Swift tests,
    git diff --check, and unchanged Package.resolved passed. Smoke against the
    exact official CLI passed initialize, account, usage, and empty thread-list
    calls in an isolated authenticated home. No turn-list coverage is claimed;
    the copied credential was removed afterward.

@gonzalolarralde gonzalolarralde released this 14 Oct 07:38

0.162.0 — 2026-10-14

  • Schema provenance: the experimental export from official @openai/codex@0.162.0
    matches all 447 files byte-for-byte against clean public tag rust-v0.162.0,
    peeled commit c1382380de69521303b416720a52f42d51af6248.
  • Contract: two schema files added, none removed, and 34 existing files changed.
    Adds paginated thread/attachmentOwner/list, environment skill configuration,
    browser extension requirements, and independent speed-mode capability metadata.
    Turns gain optional root/parent identifiers; subagent activity gains model and
    reasoning metadata. Adds partial_answer message phase and additional_tools
    response items; skill paths use the legacy-app-path string representation.
    Misalignment details gain a nullable review target.
  • Swift compatibility: the removed namespaceTools provider capability remains
    an optional deprecated property in the separate compatibility overlay, with
    historical/current response coverage. The upstream JSON Schema export is
    unchanged by this overlay. Existing deprecated APIs and the lossless error-info
    override are retained. Exhaustive enum switches must handle the added cases.
  • Verification: generation was idempotent; source-bundle verification, two Python
    normalization tests, swift build --target AppServerClient, all 26 Swift tests,
    git diff --check, and unchanged Package.resolved passed. Smoke against the
    exact official CLI passed initialize, account, usage, and empty thread-list
    calls in an isolated authenticated home. No turn-list coverage is claimed;
    the copied credential was removed afterward.

@gonzalolarralde gonzalolarralde released this 14 Oct 07:32

0.161.0 — 2026-10-14

  • Schema provenance: the experimental export from official @openai/codex@0.161.0
    matches all 445 files byte-for-byte against clean public tag rust-v0.161.0,
    peeled commit 979011409de0a60b52f179721948e65531d26144.
  • Contract: five schema files added, none removed, and 28 existing files changed.
    Adds thread/prediction/request, thread/prediction/updated, and
    account/bedrock/checkGovCloudRequirements. Goal mutations gain optional
    user/automatic provenance; MCP OAuth responses/notifications gain nullable
    login IDs. Error info now accepts unknown string/object variants.
  • Swift compatibility: added the GovCloud response-name override and normalize
    JSON Schema multi-type arrays into disjoint OpenAPI alternatives. A focused
    error-info override preserves known case names and nested payload APIs while
    losslessly retaining unknown errors. Exhaustive switches must handle the new
    unknown case. Existing deprecated compatibility APIs remain available.
  • Verification: generation was idempotent; source-bundle verification, two Python
    normalization tests, swift build --target AppServerClient, all 25 Swift tests,
    git diff --check, and unchanged Package.resolved passed. Smoke against the
    exact official CLI passed initialize, account, usage, and empty thread-list
    calls in an isolated authenticated home. No turn-list coverage is claimed;
    the copied credential was removed afterward.

@gonzalolarralde gonzalolarralde released this 14 Oct 07:13

0.160.1 — 2026-10-14

  • Schema provenance: the experimental export from official @openai/codex@0.160.1
    matches all 440 files byte-for-byte against the clean public tag
    rust-v0.160.1, peeled commit d27764b82f7118f674371e6d6e76271d9d606edb.
  • Contract: no public contract change from 0.160.0; no schema files or wire
    definitions changed. The upstream patch preserves Windows executor startup
    environment variables for remote stdio MCP servers.
  • Swift compatibility: includes the reviewed deprecated-API additions from
    main: removed rollback requests fail before sending, and historical plugin
    models and Windows sandbox fields remain Codable. Published 0.160.0 is unchanged.
    Updated current compatibility references; no generator repair was needed.
  • Verification: generation was idempotent; swift build --target AppServerClient,
    all 22 swift test cases, git diff --check, and unchanged Package.resolved
    passed. The first build was invalidated by a concurrent idempotency rewrite;
    the serial retry passed. Smoke against the exact official CLI passed initialize,
    account, usage, and empty thread-list calls in an isolated authenticated home.
    No turn-list coverage is claimed; the copied credential was removed afterward.

@gonzalolarralde gonzalolarralde released this 04 Oct 14:52

Targets stable public Codex 0.160.0.

The experimental schema export from the exact official CLI was verified
byte-for-byte against all 440 files in the clean rust-v0.160.0 source bundle
at a956835d020762cb2b570053af06f643a11c0ecc.

There is no exported contract change from 0.159.3. This release updates
client version metadata and preserves the tested compatibility changes from
the intervening releases.

Verification passed: idempotent generation, Swift client build, all 17
tests, whitespace checks, unchanged dependency lockfile, and live initialize,
account, usage, and empty thread-list calls against @openai/codex@0.160.0.
The smoke test used an isolated authenticated home and removed the copied
credential afterward. Turn-list and embedded iOS checks are outside this
client release's verification.

See CHANGELOG.md for the complete version-by-version contract audit.

@gonzalolarralde gonzalolarralde released this 04 Oct 14:37

0.159.0 — 2026-10-04

  • Schema provenance: official @openai/codex@0.159.0 experimental export,
    verified byte-for-byte against all 440 files in the clean stable public
    rust-v0.159.0 source bundle at peeled commit
    687a119f0fcaace47e1f1abcc77cec6c813fd6da.
  • Contract: thread/items/list cursors now accept an opaque string or a tagged
    item anchor. Adds optional MCP server-name filtering and the
    tooManyDenials error value. No RPCs, schema files, or definitions were
    removed; opaque string cursors remain valid on the wire.
  • Swift compatibility: the item cursor parameter now takes a generated
    ThreadItemsListCursor, a source-level change for callers passing strings
    directly. Use .init(value1: cursorString) for an opaque cursor or
    .init(value2: .init(itemId: itemID, _type: .item)) for an anchor.
    Added a serialization/decode regression test covering both complete request
    payloads. No generator or handwritten model repair was required.
  • Verification: idempotent generation, swift build --target AppServerClient,
    all 17 swift test cases, git diff --check, and unchanged
    Package.resolved passed. Initialize, account, usage, and empty thread-list
    smoke calls passed against the exact official CLI using an isolated
    authenticated home; the copied credential was removed afterward.
    No turn-list or downstream iOS coverage is claimed.

0.158.0 — 2026-10-04

  • Schema provenance: official @openai/codex@0.158.0 experimental export,
    verified byte-for-byte against all 440 files in the clean stable public

    064c6b8c737f5b41d171fdda80bd9ef10ad06eb3.
  • Contract: removes PluginSummary.extensions and the eight plugin-extension
    schema definitions introduced in 0.157.0, including their generated Swift
    models. Adds optional EnvironmentAddParams.authBearerToken for secure or
    loopback executor connections, PlanType.promax, and the
    flexUnavailable error value. No RPCs or exported schema files were removed.
  • Swift compatibility: regenerated the breaking plugin-model removal and new
    authentication/error/plan fields. Existing source compiles without additional
    handwritten compatibility fixes; gateway OAuth mappings remain covered.
  • Verification: idempotent generation, swift build --target AppServerClient,
    all 16 swift test cases, git diff --check, and unchanged
    Package.resolved passed. Initialize, account, usage, and empty thread-list
    smoke calls passed against the exact official CLI using an isolated
    authenticated home; the copied credential was removed afterward.
