IHMT 1.2.1

@gonzaroman gonzaroman released this 15 Oct 09:04

Fixes tool calls failing when an agent sends several at once.

The MCP SDK runs each tool call in its own thread, and agents such as Claude Code often call tools in parallel. Two calls could then write through the same temporary file, and one of them failed with "Error executing tool" — for save_memory, the note was not saved. In a test with 40 parallel save/search calls on a new memory, 5–10 failed; now none do.

  • Tool calls take turns under one lock.
  • Temporary files are unique per thread.
  • On Windows, replacing a file is retried briefly while another program has it open.

Upgrade: uvx ihmt-memory@latest, or git pull in a cloned install.

@gonzaroman gonzaroman released this 15 Oct 08:33

First packaged release of IHMT.

  • Install from PyPI: uvx ihmt-memory runs the MCP server with no clone or virtualenv; the memory lives in ~/.ihmt unless IHMT_HOME says otherwise. uvx ihmt-memory --instructions prints the usage rules for CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md.
  • MCP Registry: listed as io.github.gonzaroman/ihmt-memory.
  • Tested on Linux, macOS and Windows (Python 3.10 and 3.13) on every push.
  • Fixes: the GUI folder browser no longer goes blank on Linux when a subfolder can't be read, and the INSTALL.md install detector prints Windows paths correctly.

The clone-and-venv install described in INSTALL.md keeps working as before.
