Release list
[0.10.0] - 2026-10-09
Changed
The project list has columns: Date Modified and Date Created (Finder's dates, refreshed in the background after every scan), and optionally Date Saved (when Logic last saved the project), Size and Tags (all Finder tags by name). Click a column title to sort by it, right-click the title bar to choose the columns (like Finder); the Sort menu offers the same fields. Tags are searchable in the main search box. Columns have fixed widths. This replaces the single date I added earlier. The library is re-read once to record sizes and dates.
Added
Sort the project list and the search results from a toolbar button (name, dates, size; see the columns below); the choice is remembered. Projects without a value always come last.

[0.9.0] - 2026-10-09
Changed
Releases are distributed as a disk image (LPX-Explorer-.dmg: the app and an Applications shortcut to drag it onto) instead of a zip. package.sh signs and notarizes the app, builds the image with make-dmg.sh, then signs, notarizes and staples the image too.
[0.8.0] - 2026-10-09
Added
Developer ID signing and notarization for releases: scripts/sign-app.sh (hardened runtime, secure timestamp, notarize, staple), used automatically by package.sh / release.sh when LPX_SIGN_IDENTITY (and LPX_NOTARY_PROFILE) are set; setup in docs/SIGNING.md. LPX_BUNDLE_ID sets the bundle identifier of release builds.

Added
Single-file Logic 4–9 projects (.lso) are found when scanning a folder and listed like projects, marked "Legacy .lso project": they can be found by name, revealed in Finder and matched with their bounces. Their contents (tracks, tempo, plug-ins) are not read; the detail pane says so. The file is never written to.
Fixed
Projects converted from older Logic versions (and a few tracks in others) show the names of all their tracks: object records whose id is above 255 are now read, as a last fallback and only for objects nothing milder could find. Checked on all example projects: besides the converted "Spacey", only one previously blank hidden track in the two LSK projects changed (it now has its name). The library is re-read once.
[0.7.0] - 2026-10-08
Added
A short manual (two pages, PDF) under Help ▸ LPX Explorer Manual (⌘?). It is built from docs/manual.html with swift scripts/make-manual.swift and bundled into the app by make-app.sh.
The About window links to the GitHub mirror and to Buy Me a Coffee.
Fixed
Projects saved by Logic Pro X 10.5 and earlier now list all their tracks (positions, hidden tracks, names, channels). Their track records are 92 bytes instead of 93 and their object records sit directly behind the previous text; both are read now, the second one only as a fallback for objects the normal scan can't find, so files that already worked are read exactly as before (checked on all example projects). The library is re-read once because of this.
[0.6.0] - 2026-10-08
Added
Bounces: a bounce belongs to a project when its file name starts with the project's name (version number included); whatever follows is ignored. A file with STM#nn after the name is stem nn (the text after it is the stem's label); every other match is a mix, the newest being the main one. They are looked up in Bounces folders in the project's folder and in every folder above it up to the library folder (so projects in Backups find the Bounces next to Backups), including all subfolders, and inside the package. The project detail shows the mix prominently with its stems below, the project list marks projects that have a bounce, and a "Bounce: any / Has bounce / No bounce" filter sits next to the search fields. Lookups are cached and re-checked in the background after every scan.
A player at the bottom of the window: play / pause, the waveform with a playhead (click or drag to jump), times, and "back to the project" the playback was started from. It keeps playing while you browse. The space bar plays / pauses (not while typing in a text field).
The project detail is split into two panes: details with the bounces right below them, and the tracks in a pane of their own. The tracks pane has a toolbar toggle; hiding it is remembered. The list column is narrower by default (450 pt) to make room.
Inspector metadata now matches what the original app showed: frame rate, created and modified dates (with "3 days ago"), impulse responses, sample rate in kHz, "Bundle size", and a "Snapshot from last save" caption under the window image. The project list also shows each project's folder.
Fixed
The search fields above the project list keep their focus when the first letter switches the list to the results.
The player is a strip of its own at the bottom of the window instead of an overlay on the content.
File names are never cut short any more: the player, the bounce and audio lists and the project list show them in full (wrapping when needed); stems show their label and the complete file name.
