Feature Request: Official VS Code Extension for Antigravity IDE

Summary

Please provide an official VS Code extension that brings the Antigravity experience directly into Visual Studio Code, similar to how Claude Code integrates with VS Code.

Background

Antigravity is an impressive agentic development environment, but many developers already use VS Code as their primary IDE and have heavily customized workflows built around it.

Switching to a separate IDE introduces friction because developers must leave behind:

• Existing extensions
• Themes and settings
• Remote SSH configurations
• Dev Containers
• Workspace configurations
• Keyboard shortcuts
• Established development workflows

For many developers, VS Code is already the central hub for development, and an official extension would significantly lower the barrier to adopting Antigravity.

An official VS Code extension should provide:

Core Agent Experience

• Embedded Antigravity chat panel
• Full access to Antigravity agents
• Context-aware workspace understanding
• Multi-file code editing
• Codebase analysis

Planning & Task Management

• Agent planning view
• Task breakdown and execution tracking

Development Workflow

• Terminal integration

• Integration with the agy CLI

Why This Matters

Tools such as Claude Code have demonstrated that developers strongly prefer AI assistants that integrate into their existing editor rather than requiring a complete IDE switch.

Many developers would like to use Antigravity's capabilities while remaining inside VS Code. An official extension would:

Expected Outcome

First off.. This is the antigravity cli repository. Not the IDE repository.. Most of the features you are requesting are related to that.

With regards to your feature requests...

You forgot one item under "Why this matters" in the section describing what this would accomplish. Along with increased adoption, you for got (in parens) - "of the models, not antigravity itself." Because why would anyone use antigravity, which is nearly identical to vs-code, save for a few features if you could just add a few extensions and call it good?

On all the other points, antigravity IS essentially vs-code and you can port workflows, onboard exactly the same way if you choose, etc etc.. The last thing you forgot to mention is that it would Defeat the entire purpose of developing antigravity, which is a direct competitor to vs-code, in the first place.

This will never happen. Giant corporations don't become successful by killing their own products.

At least until google "pulls a google" and abandons antigravity in favor of going a different direction entirely as they have so many other times with so many other awesome things in the past. To my knowledge, nobody at google has yet learned to tell the board to kick rocks when they have unreasonable performance expectations.

@SK-Infidel this is 2026 we dont need nessesary competition. who asked antigravity to re invent the wheel already vscode is perfect and works fine they should stop wasting time building another vscode and just build an extension. That we can simply use in the official vscode and spend that time improving antigravity cli cos its so fek demn. Why dont they learn from how claude code works. Anti gravitys claudecode really sucks it can fill ur project with thousands of bugs. And to make matters worse it can prompt u to accept like abillion times i pressed accecpt till my keyboard lost color demn.
