What happened?

Got an API Error. Error copied from the terminal below:

What did you expect to happen?

Expectation: The Gemini CLI helps me create a file called GEMINI.md and explains what goes in it and why (preferably using Google search to ground its response in the GitHub documentation on gemini-cli).

The broken API issue has been reported multiple times over the course of many days since release. But Google doesn't seem to care. Releasing a "Claude Code Killer" that only works on free tier is not a great start.

I can confirm this happens in my remote linux instance running ubuntu 22.04 but not on my local machine running MacOS 15.5.

[update] - It has been working for me fine (really well actually) for the last week or so now, I think that must've been an outlier. Would still be keen to get an insight into the logs and the steps Gemini takes to debug
