Winora v0.1.6

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 01 Oct 19:58

Winora 0.1.6 for Windows 11 x64 (beta preview).

  • One Start Winora with Windows toggle in app Settings, enabled by default.
  • Sign-in quietly restores every enabled feature, including taskbar effects and
    tray automation, then exits without opening the settings window.
  • Removed the taskbar-specific startup control and migrated legacy per-feature
    startup entries. Selecting the Windows default taskbar keeps app startup enabled.
  • Turning startup off leaves the current session's features running.
  • Redesigned ribbon logo used consistently in the app, executable, and installer.
  • Existing immediate finish selection, tray automation, app Dark mode, update
    controls, and isolated development workflow preserved.

Tray automation uses an undocumented Explorer visibility preference. Windows
configurations without it are reported as unsupported; Windows-managed and
deliberately hidden app icons cannot be guaranteed visible.

The installer bootstraps the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime if it is missing. The native
taskbar engine is downloaded from its official release on first use; missing
Microsoft UI frameworks are provisioned separately. Internet access is required
for these downloads and updates. The preview installer is unsigned.

This preview has not been validated across every Windows 11 build. A separate
running TranslucentTB instance must be closed before enabling Winora effects.

Measured native background working memory was 72–75 MiB on the development PC.
The prototype is functional, but an exceptionally small memory footprint remains
an optimisation target. The settings app exits fully when its window is closed.

@github-actions github-actions released this 01 Oct 19:22

Winora 0.1.5 for Windows 11 x64 (beta preview).

  • New light interface, original ribbon icon, and live desktop/taskbar preview.
  • Finish and startup selections apply immediately, with queued changes,
    failure recovery, and retry. The Apply button has been removed.
  • Compact sidebar with Taskbar and app Settings; an icon rail in narrow windows.
  • Saved app-only Dark mode, available in Settings at the bottom of the sidebar.
  • Existing taskbar effects, persistent tray automation, saved preferences, and
    global update controls preserved.
  • Isolated Winora Dev workflow for local UI testing without changing the installed
    production app or Windows preferences.

Tray automation uses an undocumented Explorer visibility preference. Windows
configurations without it are reported as unsupported; Windows-managed and
deliberately hidden app icons cannot be guaranteed visible.

  • Larger default window, refreshed finish selectors, and a dark scrollbar.
  • Existing taskbar effects, tray automation, saved preferences, and global
    update controls preserved.

Tray automation uses an undocumented Explorer visibility preference. Windows

@github-actions github-actions released this 01 Oct 17:32

Winora 0.1.3 for Windows 11 x64 (preview).

  • Compact global update checking beside the installed version, with checking,
    current, update-ready, and retry states.
  • Optional Always show app tray icons, with a small native watcher that
    promotes existing/new tray entries and restores reset visibility preferences.
  • Tray automation runs at sign-in and remains active after closing Winora,
    independently of translucency. Turning it off stops enforcement without hiding
    icons. Existing preferences migrate with the new option off.
  • Unsupported Windows configurations and registry failures are surfaced in the
    tray setting. Windows-managed or deliberately hidden app icons are excluded
    from any guarantee; the Explorer visibility preference is undocumented.
  • Existing taskbar effects, finish previews, and update installation preserved.

  • Compact Taskbar settings with no marketing copy.

  • Live finish preview with distinct transparent and frosted acrylic states.
