The desktop dashboard needs no cluster-side service or dashboard account.
logger-rs must be available on the HPC as a module or executable so your own
job can record telemetry; see Collecting Telemetry.
The current macOS build is not yet signed with an Apple Developer ID, so Gatekeeper may block it or report that the app is damaged on first open. This is an Apple signing and notarisation warning, not a diagnosis of the download.
Either:
Right-click → Open. Right-click (or Control-click) the app in Applications, choose Open, then Open again in the dialog. macOS remembers the decision.
Or clear the quarantine flag:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/HPC Dashboard Local.app"Only run that command for the app you downloaded from the project's official release page.
Same situation. Click More info → Run anyway. The Windows builds are unsigned for now.
chmod +x HPC-Dashboard_*.AppImage
./HPC-Dashboard_*.AppImageThe app checks for updates on launch and offers them in the footer. Updates are verified against a signing key compiled into the app, so a tampered download is rejected regardless of where it came from — that check is independent of the Apple/Windows signing above.
If the check fails — offline, VPN not up yet — it stays quiet rather than painting an error across an app you did not ask to check anything.
You can always download a release manually instead.
Profiles are stored in profiles.toml in the app's data directory on your
machine, alongside the local history.sqlite3 cache. On macOS, the data
directory is under ~/Library/Application Support/. Profiles and telemetry
are not synced. The app also contacts GitHub to check for updates; see the
FAQ for details.
Delete the app. On macOS also remove its data directory under
~/Library/Application Support/ if you want the profiles gone too.
